So no over-the-line jokes made at SHS’s expense then.

All depends on your perspective. Many people think so, but I thought some of her other material was more over-the-line than what she said about Sanders. It's a fine line for comedians for these sort of things. What works at a stand up show is probably a little different than what works at an event like this. The true greats know how to thread that needle, I don't think Wolf got it right.

What was the most offending broadside made against Sanders?

The WHCA knew exactly what they were getting.

My question is how many people had to have said no before giving this nobody a shot?

See. I'm of two minds on this.

1. I think that insult comedy has always been part of comedy and, it's often been brutal. So, on that front, my reaction is meh.

However.

2. The left hasn't agreed with me on #1 in at least 10 years. The left has considered entire swaths of comedy to be off limits to include shaming specific women for their appearance.

So, I'd like to go back to a time when we were all good with the likes of George Carlin. But, I see no reason for the right to just unilaterally disarm as liberals expect them to do on nearly everything.

But their therapy session looked pathetic and they know it so they’re blaming her. Most of them are full of it.

Yup.

The reality is that 99.9% of them loved the insults. But, they're kinda acting like the 4 year old who just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Now, they want everyone to believe they were blindsided by it.

Johnny Carson would disagree if he were still living. I watched his shows practically every night, when I was finally allowed to stay up til midnight, and to this day I still can't put a finger on which way he leaned politically.

Now that's how a true comedian approaches politics imo.

I love how yesterday I was told by our dems here that everyone was outraged and there was only a small section on twitter of people who didn’t mind the jokes...yet all the dems here and in the media are accepting or flat out praising the jokes.

Fox - damn right she did something wrong.

Wolf was excruciatingly unfunny. I tried to laugh - just couldn’t do it.

Village idiot.

She called Sanders a liar ("I'm not really sure what we're going to get: you know, a press briefing, a bunch of lies..."), called her a female Uncle Tom ("Uncle Tom but for white women") and made fun of her looks ("I love you as Aunt Lydia in 'The Handmaid's Tale.'").

Only liberals can do that to a woman. If a conservative got in front of an audience and said those things about a woman the sky screamers, like you, would be apoplectic.

Because you're too stupid to know what the reference to Aunt Lydia means, here is a picture of the Aunt Lydia character:

Yep.

They hired a cobra. The cobra went cobra and they all want to act like they didn't intend for the cobra to go cobra.

The truth is, they loved it right until they realized it didn't go over well.

It's always funnier that way. Once a comedian becomes too one-sided and personal and you know that they truly personally hate their target, the humor is just less effective.

Wolf's routine was pretty meh for the crude/personal insult stand up routine honestly. Definitely pushed the limits for this type of event though.
