Most likely will be a Democratic candidate for Congress in the near future since he is a “hero”.

For the time it takes to fill out his retirement paperwork.

For those not familiar with the military, “relieved of command” is the end of a career, not some slap on the wrist and a “let’s do better next time” statement on an evaluation. There may be some unicorns out there who beat it but for 99.99%, the military just asked you to GTFO.

He went outside the Chain of Command. The letter got leaked to the press most likely by him ,but regardless of how it happened he gave up information on readiness to our adversaries. He made his Superiors look bad due to his own incompetence.

He should be stripped of rank and punished to the full extent of military law.

You don't show up at sonic, and announce that you have a weak ankle. When you are in The Pacific, on an aircraft carrier, you are at sonic 24/7.

Because when you command a carrier you cannot act like a bitch. You cannot complain, you cannot bitch you have that position for a reason. What if this was during combat was he just going to call time out? and what about his crew when they realize in order to get what you want from the Navy you have to bitch like the captain.

The captain of the ship is the example of duty and bravery to his subordinates. It's not in the country's best interests when the captain's higher concern is his subordinates liking him versus dealing with a crisis and keeping the ship mission ready to the best of his abilities until the crisis passes or assistance arrives.

Oh come on. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have been fired. But he did what he thought was best for his men. That is NOT an embarrassment.

Readiness data, when aggregated, is classified CONFIDENTIAL//NOFORN

He's lucky if he doesn't have his clearance revoked or worse.

I don't approve of his actions, but I hope he survives his battle with the virus.

Them cheering him means shite. My BIL is in the Navy in Guam and is adamant that he should have been fired.

Is he basing this on the fact that he went outside the chain of command?
