Because as a commander it is not a good idea to let your enemies know that your aircraft carrier may be out of commission. Should be demoted and then dishonorably discharged.

He publicly complained about the soldiers on his ship getting the flu. What a loser.

Oh come on. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have been fired. But he did what he thought was best for his men. That is NOT an embarrassment.

Opening the door for a potential foe who feels this might be the only shot not only potentially embarrasses his crew, places them at risk!!!

It does exist that there will be servicemen in our ranks that will dislike the president or disagree with him. Some...will see fit that their political affiliation is more important than their Oath.

I served under 4 Presidents. Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. Not once have I considered sabotaging the Mission or defy a security clearance to make a political shot at my Commander In Chief.

This Captain, did all that when he "leaked" information to the Media which would provide information to our enemies.

He's lucky that being removed from Command was all he got. He gets to keep his rank and will probably be back in Command at another location shortly.

He went around his flag officer to bitch and copied dozens of folks on the bitching, which resulted in the bitching getting leaked.

He made too many mistakes in this to retain command. Expressing concern is one thing. Embarrassing the chain of command with undue alarm is seditious.

Maybe it was because he was leaving the ship. Think of it as subliminal clapping and cheering.

Surely you dont believe that. Even the conservative Washington Times doesn't believe something that dumb.

For going way outside of his chain of command to air grievances.

I agree with that article, except for the part at the end where it suggested that IF he had been banging his head against the chain of command he may have been justified. (To be fair -the article does not imply that he had been doing that).

Assume for a second the guy did the "right thing" by his sailors. The removal would have still been necessary.

Just one of those things that seems pretty obvious- preserving military discipline is necessary and preserves lives.

He can be admired by his crew for sticking up for them, but should be fired for the manner in which it was done.

FWIW, I served in the Navy so I have some basis for my opinion on the admiration part. As for him being fired, the manner in which he did things was totally unacceptable. In short, he deserved more than just being fired imho.

You don't show up at sonic, and announce that you have a weak ankle.
When you are in The Pacific, on an aircraft carrier, you are at sonic 24/7.

It would seem that you are correct. It looks as though he simply wanted to post his link. It is a bitch move.

From the American Thinker article....

quote:

"Crozier was an instant hero for taking a stand on behalf of his crew. Indeed the navy's initial response was to say Crozier would not be punished for being so candid About conditions aboard his ship.

However, 2 days after the Crozier story broke, the Navy removed him from his command."

Hmmm....
