Why is the left so concerned about non-criminals with guns?

Virtually every act, proposed law, talking point, etc. from the left is concerning non-criminal gun owners.

When the issue turns to criminal gun owners, then the supposed solution never works.

Insurance for gun owners? Sure, but criminals won't have it.

Licenses? Sure, but criminals won't have it.

Gun safety courses? Sure, but criminals won't have it.

Trigger locks? Sure, but criminals won't have it.

Ban certain guns? Sure, but criminals WILL have them.

Ban all guns? Sure, but criminals WILL have them.

Do leftists not understand that there are already THOUSANDS of laws on the books that, if followed, would prevent virtually every gun crime (and any other for that matter).

By definition, criminals don't follow laws.

Totalitarians need to remove guns from law abiding citizens so they can reduce the risk of doing totalitarian things.

It's hard to take rights away from an armed populace.

The objective from the left is to turn up the heat gradually until the water is boiling and it's too late to jump out. The heat in this case takes the form of increasing redistribution of wealth and elimination of choice.

But if the people have guns, it's never too late.

If you notice, they always take the coward way out. Rather than confiscate guns, they just restrict them to death.

Maryland already did that shite with guns that look scary. I was looking into buying an AR recently however they are illegal here, which is complete bull shite.

Edit: I should also add its damn near impossible to get a license to carry here as well.

I bet that would really stop you if you actually wanted to carry a gun to do harm

Because the majority of mass shooters where white, non criminals. They want to prevent the next white non criminal gun owner, from becoming the next white criminal, murdering gun owner. They don't care if you or I aren't going to be that person. To them, guns are useless to anyone but police and military. And they are working on Police too. They don't want you to be able to "defend" yourself. To them, a well armed militia is an antiquated term that has no meaning in today's society.

I believe Colion Noir perfectly describes the bases of gun control in this country.

I am all for the second ammendment, but let's not act like people are going to arm up, and start shooting government officials if some amendments are changed or abolished.

Yet, thousands of young men are carrying in the streets with no licenses. Why the frick do you live in that state? Have fun with that.

To be fair, we the people have only ourselves to blame for letting problems escalate this far.

Nobody stops to think "Maybe one of the reasons the population is strongly promoting wealth redistribution is because their is a problem with wage growth in this country". In politics, it doesn't matter if there are objective reasons for this problem, but that people perceive it as a problem.

In truth, the baby boomer generation was one of the most subsidized generations in our country. They benefited from a booming post war economy and the creation of multiple social programs (Medicare, SS, etc.)

This isnt about generation bashing. It is just acknowledging that new changes have occurred in what job market and social attitudes.

Because reducing the number of guns reduces the chances that those "non-criminals" decide to become criminals and murder their fellow Americans.

In short, it saves lives.
