Because that’s where the zombie apocalypse starts...duh. As documented in TWD.

Unless your plan is to get everyone to quit. Then we can defund it completely.

National Weather Service to Dallas

I'd suggest Norman, Oklahoma. They already have the National Severe Storms Center there (on the OU campus).

NOAA to Tampa/St. Pete

Or Miami where the National Hurricane Center is.

IDK, but Emory Univ's medical school is happy about it.
It's a great recruiting tool

There's also 2 big hospitals on campus (Emory, Children's Healthcare) and another about a mile away (VA)

This is a good thing. Maybe Trump should move the DOJ and FBI to Dallas, EPA to Denver, HUD to Little Rock and disperse other agencies around the country. Diversify DC.

Having all of government leadership concentrated in one small area is very convenient for terrorists with a nuke and lobbyists.

It was once necessary, but now there is Internet and teleconferencing.

I’m sure they’d like to have a representative and two senators, just saying

Just makes sense in how we coordinate our government. If you want it out of Washington then put it in a place where people would want to live like Malibu, CA. Miami, FL. Santa Barbara, CA or even Myrtle Beach, SC

Hell naw...

Even it we wanted the Capital moved it should be a place people would avoid...
Like near Omaha, Independence MO, SW Iowa somewhere...
It should be painful to serve your country, so enjoy the upper midwest/heartland Winters

It is amazing with this thing called the internet that most questions can be answered with a simple search.

Here's your answer

Why is the CDC in Atlanta?

This board doesn't care about facts. They like to ask a question that has a clear answer but instead of actually finding the real answer they speculate what the answer could be. Eventually they agree on a fake answer that aligns with their preconceived bias and views and going forward that is now the truth.

What pork barrel nonsense put something that vital away from DC

An agency needing to respond to an emerging issue anywhere in the nation (and potentially on Earth) having an airport with a direct connection to literally any other airport one can name makes zero sense to you?

Who forced them to live in the district? That has ALWAYS been the deal, for good reason.

DC is lucky it gets Electoral Votes.

Want representatives in Congress? Don’t live in D.C.

Very, very simple.

I don't care who ask the question. It still holds true. I clearly said "this board" not republicans or conservatives or liberals, etc

Correct on how it started. The current location on Clifton Avenue is down the street from Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Egleston Children’s Hospital (part of CHOA) there on Emory’s campus is an amazing hospital. My son had back-to-back heart surgeries there 3 years ago this month. He’s doing great now. In his 2nd year of Pre-Med at Auburn.

I was not aware of that.

I do know from reading 'The Stand' that there is (or was) a related type of facility in New Hampshire.
