Why has our response to the first American civilian casualty of the War been restrained?

An American was killed in the Houthi bombing of the Saudi airport. I don't understand why our response has been so retrained.

We have had all this noise about alleged terrorist attacks supposedly related to Iran, but when the Iranian-backed Houthis actually kill an American, there's no immediate response.

My guess is that we don't want to spread the War before midterms. Why do you think we haven't retaliated?

RIYADH, Oct 10 (Reuters) - At least 12 people were killed and more than 300 wounded in an attack on Riyadh's international airport on Saturday, the deadliest in the kingdom in more than a decade, as ?the Iran-backed Houthis escalate a campaign they launched this summer.
The dead from the third attack this week on the airport included four Saudis, two people from Bangladesh and one person each from the US, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt, the Saudi civil aviation authority said. At the latest count, 309 were wounded, officials said.

We're severely depleted on munitions, it's obvious to anyone who isn't a die hard trump lover.

Probably, the autistic "no new wars" crowd literally thought Trump was going to disband the military and America would never engage in combat/conflict ever again.

I haven't been able to confirm it was an American civilian, but they weren't performing any military duties. It was an attack on a civilian airport.

It's just weird all the noise about RAF Fairford and FlyDubai maybe being connected to Iran, when we have an actual American casualty...and nothing is apparently happening in response.

State Department hasn't released any details. Odds are they were Muslim. Does that not warrant a response?

Again, just seems odd. All the unproven speculation about RAF Fairford (no casualties) and possible "Iranian links."

In Saudi, we have an American killed by a group undeniably linked to Iran...and almost silence from the White House or the press.

Make it make sense. Lack of armaments or politics make the most sense to me.

Hmm, it’s almost like media doesn’t play the situation the way it would if foreigners were killed by our forces.

Were Americans advised to get out of the ME a while back? As much as I would love to be there, I am not due to the high risk of escalation or being targeted as an American.

lol we don’t have low munitions - that’s bs propaganda . I have a close friend that works in Huntsville and said we have more missiles than we have ever had. It’s just another hoax

Screw the media. What about our government? Why isn't Trump raising hell over this and bombing the Houthis and their Iranian backers?

Look at the pictures of Gaza being completely devastated. Now we could do that to the Houthi's... but why not.

Occam's razor, we just don't have the bombs, probably sold em to Israel. It's the only logical conclusion.

We have plenty of bombs to blow up things

If there is a shortage somewhere it might be with interceptors. If that's the case (and I'm not sure that it is) then escalation is not wise.
