Why do Trump’s attorneys always suck?

I just don’t get it. From Sidney Powell’s misspelling on public documents, Rudy’s hair dye running down his face, to that droning idiot yesterday. How can the man who negotiated peace deals, kept us from military conflict for four years, gave us the best economy ever, make such poor choices when it comes to legal representation?

I don't get it either.
Just hire kids out of law school that just passed the bar. At least they would have the energy. Sure they would make mistakes but it couldn't be worse than the dipshit lawyers that he has now with years of experience.

Good attorneys represent guilty people all the time, but Trump wants performative litigation. He doesn't need particularly competent his attorneys if the jury is already committed to acquitting (as it is), but Trump gets pissed if his people look particularly embarrassing on TV as they did yesterday.

Because most people with lives, families, and their own firm, etc. are scared of the blowback and cancelling that ensues from being associated with Trump. Its unfortunate, but its true.
Same reason why no competent, reasonable people seem to run for Congress

Actually his 1st Impeahment team was pretty good. But, Donald Trump is a very hard client to deal with purportedly. He does not listen to counsel....he expects counsel to listen to him. Even on matters of which he is not expert.
