why do cities that have been liberal controlled for the past 50-70 years with the strictest gun laws are broke and have the highest crime/murder rates in the nation?

i think it's more agriculturally-based
But how do you explain American Indians? They had a whole North American continent with fertile land and cold temps in Canada, moderate in the middle and tropical in the South. But when Columbus sailed they were still hunter gatherers.
My view has always been that civilization exploded with the development of writing. You didn't have to keep discovering the same stuff every generation. Oral tradition sucks.
Native Americans, Africans and South American natives never learned to write because they were too stupid.

well they were certainly cut off from the cutting edge agriculture of the day, but some were agricultural-based
natives had huge cities in ancient history
our view of natives is skewed b/c 90%+ of them died prior to the European conquest (and it still took 400 years to "beat" them). they were a MUCH more collection of societies, including robust ones, prior to this near-extinction event

oh writing is literally magic for ancient humans
i got into this last week with the "we need more black stories" discussion. the reason we don't have the same sort of rich history from African cultures is because none of them wrote down their histories and mythologies. the only reason we have that with natives is b/c we wrote it down/introduced writing
the isolation of the natives is probably a big reason why writing never developed (similar to Sub-Saharan Africa). they were just not a part of the cultural exchange of the Mediterranean area where these concepts were invented (and why they became the center of humanity for thousands of years)

2 things
1. States don't have IQs
2. You don't understand stats

Every single southern state is predominantly white. And how do you explain how states like Texas are essentially an economic powerhouse despite the large black population.
Because Mexicans are smarter than blacks. And work much harder.
By the way, Texas is minority-majority and Hispanics are expected to be the predominant race, any day now.

What's funny is you're probably not even top 50 IQ wise on this board.
Cool thread though

I think another reason is that minorities do not turn out to vote. Therefore, white liberals run the show in democrat strongholds while white conservatives rule red states.
The overall population doesn't matter if they don't vote. Or in Texas' case, they are ineligible to vote because they are not American citizens.

So the people that protested after the election were all MENSA members? The ones that believed the Pissgate dossier are our best and brightest?

It's hard to imagine what sort of intellectual insecurity one must possess to feel the need to harp on this faux "issue." There's a handful of posters here that think it's just totally the bees knees, though.

Strictly theoretical, demographics aside, high IQ people see solutions as "simple" and don't consider the obstacles presented by lower IQ individuals.

that's actually a very good way to describe things
lower IQ/culture people are certainly drivers of unexpected, high transactional costs in systems that higher IQ/culture persons create

Notice how this population never takes responsibility for their the regions perceived shiftless, laziness, inaptness, and lack of intelligence. Yet they always go crying to the federal govt, asking them to bail them out because they can't afford good healthcare because they have bad jobs and arent smart enough to make their own jobs or get good jobs.
But hey, only those characterizations apply to blacks, when those they are the minority population dragging the south down, or they say
