Pretty simple for me: they hate my country, and think I’m their enemy.

I am, only because I'm willing to have a conversation with them rather than talk at them or down to them. Not necessarily because my ideas are better. I think they are. But I'm willing to discuss those ideas.

They think they are above the laws. The only good thing about what’s coming will be watching these hypocrites when they realize they are not above the law when their vote is no longer needed. I talked to a liberal in my neighborhood and everything she said she was for , she did the opposite. Of course she had tons of excuses . Like her Husband works hard so he can drive a huge SUV to work even though she claims to care about the environment.

That was my rationale until the era of Clinton/Obama/Biden/Pelosi/Schumer
I do not believe they campaign on what they really stand for.
As far I as I have been able to infer from 60 years of observation, they never EVER campaign on what they really intend to do.
This last election is the cherry on the top of the ultimate hypocrisy cake.
There is not a single instance of good intent in any DEM politician at the state or national level.
Their voters are either incredibly stupid, or all in on the corruption.

This. They will look at me with shock when I tell them where I stand and what I support. They put so much on academic education and when they see I have as much higher ed as them, and more in some cases, they just cannot believe it. What they fail to understand is that being educated is about so much more than going and getting a degree. You have to keep reading and learning. They are happy to have the "experts" on TV give them their opinions instead of going out and reading and forming them on their own.
I have to say, in the last four years I have become so saddened with people that I have been friends with for almost 30 years. And, I am sure they feel the same way about me. It is sad what our country is turning into. We just have too much information and it so easy to just be lazy and read that headline that rolls across your phone.

It's partially this.
But the basis of their "rightness" is hard to argue against because it becomes so emotional, so much about comfort and material and psychological "good," that their positions are hard to argue against.
Conservative positions, and especially religious ones, almost require some level of sacrifice, of patience, of "rule setting," that is hard to convince anybody of unless they innately understand those limitations. And that's why it's like arguing with a brick wall. There's just no common ground. There was little previously, but we all agreed to figure out how to do this together. But liberals have gone a different direction and now require servitude to THEIR beliefs, while holding untenable "happiness," beliefs.
