They stopped winning wars

Absolutely. The military is no place for that leftwing pipedream horseshite.

It’s honestly the same reason that 80% of school teachers these days are dumb. Back in the day, teaching and nursing were the vocations that had “smart/educated” women. Now, these women can be doctors/lawyers/ engineers/etc.
Back in the day, smart men went to college, motivated men joined the military or got a job with the local factory. The military drew the more independent folks who wanted to get out of BFE and see the world, and folks who joined had diverse vocational/ problem solving skills and life experiences that the factory workers didn’t possess.
Military also used to be the only way someone from BFE could see the world (or even another part of our country). Now they can get a cheap Spirit flight. Air travel was a thing only the rich/upper class did until the 1980’s, if not the 90’s.

When you are hell bent on turning the military into a social experiment instead a lethal fighting machine, this is the military you get, tranny generals included

Cadets are officers in training. Everyone else entering the military are enlisted men (or women), or recruits.

Democratic administrations, for decades, have prioritized anything but the military's primary job. Win, and don't waste lives doing it.
So we're just ignoring Iraq and Afghanistan? BOTH parties are equally guilty in wasting lives in pointless occupations going back to Vietnam.

why did this happen?
It started in the 90s with Bill Clinton and the Democrats policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell” which, of course lead to this…
And this..
And this…
And this…
And this…
I’m old enough to remember when leftists told us the slippery slope was a “right-wing fantasy”; I hope all you idiots who fell for their lie are happy.
What’s the lesson to take from this? Simply put, any society that embraces and normalizes the unnatural perversion of homosexual fetishism, is doomed to collapse.

Vietnam and the summer of love. Damned hippies.

it started closer to 40 years
It started with Islamic Extremism and that was festering long before the early 80’s, it just took longer to draw us in than certain people in the Middle East thought. It’s been down hill ever since for the USA.

Just like any government organization, it trended left over time. With that came other priorities like DEI. Plenty of intelligent and motivated young men see the hot mess and want nothing to do with it.

Remember, he called it the "peace dividend." And then everyone bitched when Halliburton had to be called to build shitters and run dining facilities. You could have had my E-3 arse being paid jack shite scrubbing pans, but Clinton decided to outsource.

The slippery slope about gay marriage wasn’t that long ago. I supported gay marriage then, and I still support gay marriage today. I just couldn’t foresee the floodgates opening the way they have since.

WTF
My second Company at Bragg produced a 4 star, 6 CSMs, two 2 stars and, at last count, over a dozen muliti millionaires well into eight figures ... and that's not counting those worth a mullion or two.
We produced a DSC, four Silver Stars, three Bronze stars and 61 purple hearts.
So, tbh, you're full of shite with your "really isn't a new thing" absolutes thing.
The world, and every profession, every walk of life, even your immediate family and you, are full of idiots.
Idiocracy is not the issue. Some of the bravest men I served with were not the sharpest pencil in the box.
Ethics, stoicism, work ethic, honor ... those are the things missing today among American men comparatively speaking compared to past generations.
But it's not their fault ... media, Hollywood, schools, their mothers and sisters raised them to be this way.

During the Civil War, those of means were able the buy their way out of service to their country and instead profit greatly for themselves. This was in opposition of those who had come before them to serve a country and escape the vestiges of the countries they left to be free, even if it was to endure hardship. As a young man I sat the feet that who have served (both wealthy and poor side by side) to once again serve a country over themselves. Many of those since have returned to the service of self and have lost that wich so many died for. The question you should ask, is not what we have lost today, but what we will teach the future if we are to regain the honor of service to others over self and continue a past well in to those who come after all of us are long dead and dust.
This didn’t come out as eloquently as you think it did.
