Other than high oil prices, what leverage do they have? We just keep the Strait closed, and their economy continues to collapse.

The Massie bros are having an existential crisis: war is bad, negotiations are bad, not having a war is bad, everything is bad.

It seems we might’ve believed we would shock and awe them into fairly fast capitulation.

That didn’t happen, the military campaign quickly turned political in nature and been looking for the best face saving way out ever since.

Well, we can’t go full on war without congress. They have more than signaled that the votes aren’t there. Iran knows we are limited in what we can do because of this. Add in upcoming midterms and every day without a solution is one step closer to bloodbath at polls. I don’t know if this is the best we can hope for, but those who won’t to wipe out Iran aren’t going to get what they want.

The Tucker Bros and the left are the reason we’re having to negotiate. If we had full support of the goal from our country, we wouldn’t have to do this, but Iran knows that half our country wants them to win.

The reality is that the party in power has lost in the midterms 90% of the time. Yet this board continues to fantasize that it's somehow going to be different this time.

True. I think the gerrymandering will lighten the blow, but I’m still expecting losses in the midterms. I just don’t see much for people in the middle politically to be excited about in the last 2 years.

"You disagree with my daddy Donna T, so that must mean you want the other side to win/have TDS/are a traitor/etc".

Like clockwork.

Yeah Rand, and we lost all of those wars with negotiated endings. Unconditional surrender are dirty words to weak dicks.

It is important that the Republicans hold the Senate.

The next presidential race in 2028 is way more important than what happens in 2026.

That is what Trump does. He blusters, bullies others, then walks with a deal. Works on Wall Street. Not in the World theater, though

High oil prices AND every major economy in the world is draining their strategic reserves. shite hits the fan in June. Iran has the world by the balls keeping the strait closed.

That's where I'm at. We are negotiating with animals who are incapable of negotiating in good faith. Let their economy collapse.
