The earth is flat because I can see it. That’s all the proof I need. The globe model doesn’t even make sense yet here we have people defending it because they are scared to be wrong due to to their arrogance.

Those who believe in the globe model might as well be leftists. They use the same tactics to defend their stupid model that leftists use when trying to express their opinions.

How are people really this dumb?

We can’t see gravity, but are you saying it doesn’t exist either?

If we pay for you to go up in one of the tourist rockets that only go to the edge of space for a few minutes, would that give you enough perspective to see that it is actually a globe?

This argument feels like the 1300s and 1400s with people scared that ships would sail right off the edge of the ocean, like falling off the edge of a table.

I think what a lot of flat earthers are missing from their equation is scale. The earth is really really big, and you and teeny tiny in comparison. Do you think a flea on a beach ball knows it’s round?

I’ve asked my series of questions in the last FE thread by Liberator as well, but I never get answers.

Well... air is a fluid. With that in mind, why things fall could just be a matter of density.
Gravity is one of those theories that cannot be explained and used as sort of a God-substance/force/fundamental interaction to explain things that are unexplainable in physics. It's whatever science needs it to be depending on the circumstance. It is in no way constant. It is in no way quantifiable except in the theoretical sense when scientists attempt to explain our world. Even Neil deGrasse Tyson is on video saying that the scientific community doesn't really know what gravity truly is.

One of the many things I have always failed to understand was that supposedly the Earth's gravity is strong enough to keep the moon in its orbit, but somehow the much weaker gravity on the moon effects the tides on Earth. And it only effects bodies of water that are extremely large too. Why doesn't the moon's gravity cause tides in small ponds or swimming pools?
Gravity is admittedly the weakest of the so called fundamental interactions. Strong enough to keep all the water on a spinning planet, but weak enough for you to overcome it, however briefly, by simply jumping.

I'm no physicist though.

So if it's flat Earth how come we don't fall off of the edge...

Because there is no edge in the FE model. At least not one man can reach because of how inhospitable the environment is beyond the ice wall that is Antartica.
Think of a round disk that is protected on all sides by an ice wall, beyond which is impossible for man to reach/explore/survive. Kind of like outerspace but actual Terra firma.

Exactly how high does one must get to believe in this?

Because it's deliberately discrediting. It ties anyone who opposes them to wacky conspiracy theories. Like the Q-Tard crap. The method is obvious.

The earth is 7900 miles across. You think a ball thats 32 miles wide and 3000 miles up is going to match the day/night cycle we currently experience?

So a trip from New York to the sun is quicker than new York to London? Or I should at least say the distance is less.

I learn so many fascinating things on this board...

At least he’s not shooting up a school. Silver linings.

A big problem with the internet is it gives a platform to crazy people to project their craziness much farther than just those unfortunate enough to be within earshot of said crazy.

I've heard this same general assertion / excuse: "Man never flies high enough to see the "curve". So then, at exactly what altitude is a curve supposed to be seen? (below: Photo of balloon at 120,000 ft)

What do NASA or "The Science" say about it?

I've seen Space-Ball High Priest DeGrasse-Tyson embarrassing admit Felix Baumgardner's Red Bull photos of "round earth" were BS and taken with the usual Fish-Eye lens.

So again, with respect to any claimed Earth's "curve" -- at what altitude does it begin to be seen?

The truth: A flat, plane earth *always* rises to eye-level. The clouds will appear flat as a pancake -- just ask ANY pilot. (Just don't ask him in font of other people)

Here is the "Spinning Ball Earth" through the usual Fish-Eye lens:

Exactamundo.

Science is pretending it can explain everything; and when it can't do so it simply lies and dares anyone to question IT.

And yes, not even High Priest deGrasse Tyson can explain "Gravity" (WHICH. DOES. NOT. EXIST.)

quote:

Gravity is admittedly the weakest of the so called fundamental interactions. Strong enough to keep all the water on a spinning planet, but weak enough for you to overcome it, however briefly, by simply jumping.

Yup.

All "Gravity" is, is DENSITY.

The Greatest Lie on Earth (Expanded Edition): Proof That Our World Is Not a Moving Globe

I've read this book and the arguments are very compelling.

I have an open mind and all I can say is that for me personally, the bible is the only source of infallible and inerrant truth in this godforsaken world.
