I’m not yet if the opinion that Desantis can’t beat Trump. I don’t believe the polls.

But I’m firmly of the opinion the he can’t win the general if he alienates Trump voters. And I don’t see how that doesn’t happen with the way things have gone this week.

Why is the gap widening between the two in the polls?

Because the most obnoxious voices that were pro Kasich, McCain, Bushes, Romney/Ryan, Cruz, Rubio are the same obnoxious posters that have hated on Trump EVEN AFTER he turned the country around

I think most are closeted conservatives like Pence, or openly out there like HHTM. Who offered to service Rubio in a post on here

After watching the Desantis campaign these last 2 days, I don't think anyone is afraid of Desantis.

This troll thread is so dumb. Nobody feats DeSantis. The fear is a division that allows another 4 years of Biden.

You frickers arguing about candidates have the same goal but pride refuses to allow you to see it. Both candidates need to see it as well. “A house divided can bit stand”- Some white dude that did carpentry work

If you were pro Trump I’m August 2015 and prefer DeSantis that might mean something.
I loved Trump in 2015/16 and he was a great breath of fresh air. He gave zero fricks and didn’t care what people thought. I feel today that 2023 Trump is a hollow shell of that Trump. He cares more about making his self-image great again than making America great again. He’s weak and ultra-sensitive to any attack on his character and just shouts stuff to placate his base. But the majority of this board is lost in the sauce and will ride the train until the wheels fall off while the country goes to hell under the control of Bolshevik Dems. I feel that DeSantis is one of the few politicians to actually crack down on wokeness, LGBT and big money corporations. He has gotten shite done and turned a closely contested state into a red state, so I am hoping he can maybe make a dent in the Dem grip on our country. This probably makes me a cuck or something but my 2¢ from someone who doesn’t frequently post on Political Talk.

Once again, a person whining about Trump supporters not liking Desantis, while providing no evidence that this is the majority opinion.

You almost can't go anywhere on this site without reading some so-called conservative saying "drumpf", while complaining about all things Trump. They make their disdain for him more than obvious.

Meanwhile, Desantis continues to get shadier with the company he keeps. I used to think he was right there with Trump, but my confidence in him is beginning to fade.

I'm not afraid of him. I just don't think he can do what needs to be done going in in 24. DC needs a cleansing. Desantis won't be able to pull that off in the year and half he'll have after getting his feet wet, and then needs to start going around to get reelected.

I want scorched earthed Trump for 4 yrs

This is interesting.

Based on recent history, what makes you think Trump will be able to implement anything IF he were to get elected for a 2nd term?

Let me backup a bit by pointing out that the Democrats will never work with Trump, on anything. I think we can agree on that.

Many Republicans either publicly or privately despise Trump and have shown that they will side with Democrats when it comes to Trump implementing agenda's.

I think it may be risky hopefulness to believe that In 2024 Trump will win a 2nd term and the Republicans will take control of the Senate while maintaining control of the House. Which means divided government. Something not helpful to Trump getting things done.

We can get into the plethora of lawsuits, Impeachments and legal battles that Trump will have to deal with continually throughout his 2nd term later but for now I genuinely curious about why you think Trump will be able to do the things you think he should do if elected.

I could be wrong but it appears to me that if you're not Trump you basically alienate Trump voters.

Granted I have not idea if these people are truly Trump voters or internets warriors just stirring the pot but the common theme seems to be Trump or nothing from most of them.

These idiots haven't figure it out yet, The deep state knows how to play this political game.

They got a pedo potato elected for president.

They know they have no democrat that can win it,
so they have to have a backup, roll out DeSantis.

The Deep State have been playing this game a long, long time.

Only the 15 hard-core Trump posters would even consider this when making up their minds. If both came out in support of Trump you would all be remarking of their open minds.

But does he? of will every move Trump makes be ties up in lawsuits and sent to judges to determine if it's legal or not?

You have to understand that this is the plan if Trump ever wins a 2nd term don't you. They've basically told us this. Why would you think they wouldn't follow through? Just because Republicans never used those tactics on Obama and now Biden? Many Republicans in Washington play the long game, and the long games is protecting their treasures in Washington by playing nice with Democrats.
