ESPN's Pete Thamel reports that Texas A&M associate head coach for defense Lyle Hemphill will be named defensive coordinator for the Aggies.

Hemphill will replace Jay Bateman, who is taking the Kentucky DC job.

It was pretty obvious this move was made last year to react to losing Bateman, a DC didn’t call the plays
