I’ll inherit mine. Privilege is a soy word for Biden boys, but I’m not real sure what to call it these days.

Putin and xi stand in opposition. Interesting theory. I just don't understand Trump's position then. Why is he HELPING Putin?

He’s not so much as helping Putin as more helping us and not helping so much Ukraine (even though we still help some).

More interestingly to me is how we just gave the Chinese Communist Party the royal treatment and honoring them with accolades at the White House not six years removed from them utterly devastating our economy and people’s lives with an engineered bio weapon and ripping us off left and right with intellectual property.

If we were smart we’d tell Europe to go frick themselves and work to pull Russia and india away from China rather than pushing them closer together, all for a corrupt broke ungrateful country.

Your posts have me wanting to start a thread to discuss actual policy/economic shifts instead of the typical rageslop we’re seeing, but I’m probably not the best candidate to start it.

I’m wondering what is the actual mainstream path to upper middle class/low upper class now that college isn’t the path anymore. I think a lot of the angst you’re seeing from Gen Z/alpha is that there really isn’t a “do this, be successful” formula. They saw what happened to millennials but don’t know what the alternative is.

Saying Ukraine started the war is like saying that girl in a skirt was asking for it. Ukraine is a sovereign nation that was attacked in 2022. Everyone saw it with their own eyes. I hate this post fact world we live in.

The war began in 2014. People overlook that.

I thought your theory was that Netanyahu runs the world and that Putin and Xi are the only impediments to his rule. Right?

Under your theory, Trump is just a tool of the world order. Why is he helping Putin, who is an impediment to that world order?

Not a chat box. I'm trying to understand Trump's actions. Yours is an interesting theory. It doesn't explain Trump's actions other than Trump likes Putin personally...unless I'm missing something.

Thanks

AI is going to put a large dent into the normal pathways. It’s bleak.

Do we really need to run down this list again of Western provocations that started the war?

Yeah, it’s only going to get worse. In my field, I’ve tried to pivot as much as possible into roles that are legally required to have a human being accountable.

It feels like we’re 15-20 years away from a form of UBI. Yang was probably correct.

It’ll be here quicker than that. The irony will be that the ones who need it the most will vote against it because it’s literally socialism. But the social contract will have to be modified to placate a large percentage of the population that won’t have the traditional path to stability.

I use Claude everyday for work. It is already on the level of a high level paralegal / young attorney. I’m not sure how many white collar jobs will function when the things you would’ve done to get experience are just going to be done with AI. I’m sure the same is true for accounting, engineering, etc. Maybe medicine to a degree.

Not wrong at all. Being pro-AI and anti-socialism are mutually antagonistic positions unless you’re planning to thanos-snap 4-5 billion people.

Once again we missed the boat on white privilege

It would’ve been pretty cool to be Columbus or John smith and mack on the native ladies

Nowadays you just have to pay for them and their 6 kids

Of course not. I really need to hear our President explain what HE thinks caused the war. We're entitled to know why he is doing what he's doing with our foreign policy.

You’ll almost always need a human to hold accountable. You can’t sue a computer and AI companies will probably support legislation to require a human to “oversee” their work.

Right now, you’re seeing AI “identify” findings for radiologists that they then review and diagnose. You’ll probably see that concept expand across multiple professions: AI providing initial assessments and summarizing information for a human to act on.

We probably won’t see wholesale replacement of humans until AI becomes a “utility”, possibly owned by the government. Then no one will care you can’t sue it.

I agree with that. I guess my point is that you get experience doing a lot of the grunt work AI will be able to take over. I personally can’t complain about Claude because it helps me be more efficient. But I’m lucky in that the majority of my job is AI proof to some degree. If you’re 25 and out of school, that may not be true anymore.
