This certainly seems to be the case. I was surprised President Trump signed the Graham sanctions bill into law. Maybe he was counting on the provisions that let him declare an emergency and stop certain sanctions.

Whatever the case, I just wish our President would tell us what the plan is. This stepping on the brake AND the accelerator at the same time stuff sucks.

Do you think Trump thinks that?

Saying Ukraine started the war is like saying that girl in a skirt was asking for it. Ukraine is a sovereign nation that was attacked in 2022. Everyone saw it with their own eyes. I hate this post fact world we live in.

Sorry for saying mean things about your second greatest ally. As a millennial I will begrudgingly give more of my tax dollars to the cause

I agree. If that's what the President meant, why not just say that? It would make "our" foreign policy positions coherent.

Bottom line...putin said there was a red line about ukraine being part of nato. all anthony blinkin had to do was guarantee that ukraine would never be in nato. blinkin refused to do it. USA wanted this war to use ukraine to weaken russia. hundreds of thousands of soldiers have died or injured for ukraine and america could care less. ukraine has been destroyed and america will just walk away.

Why not say that then? He's not up for re-election.
Congress can't force him to do anything without a veto proof vote in the Senate.

Like many, I get tired of the secrecy. If he knows something about the "real cause of the war," there's no national security reason to not let his employers in on the secret.

What are the chances that the President just made up the response because he waived some of the sanctions against Russia?
Pretty high.

Trump replied:
“Well, you know, I know the details, okay? And at some point I'll release the details, but I don't care anything except for one. I want that war ended
He claimed he would now he's just a bystander?

Russia and China stand in direct opposition to the imf but America is too weak to attack them so we bother them through proxies

Not in this instance.

It's more a man like watching his wife getting very friendly with a rival of his. For years, he repeatedly warns her that if she persists, he will clean her clock in court.

She ignores him, continues her dalliances. In a surprise move, he hires the nastiest divorce lawyer on the planet to take her to court. He sues for custody of the kids, the house, the savings, etc. Suddenly, the two are in a protracted court fight neither expected.
