I'm not pro Landry as I'm more anti JBE and absolutely oppose the purity and moral preening that put a tax and liberal in the governor's mansion in the first place and this thread is full of it.

Y'all have learned nothing at all and it is absolutely horrifying.

Vitter may have run a shitty campaign and earned the loss but that's no excuse for justifying your vote for a liberal who completely disagrees with your politics and is actively working his arse off to make sure it can't get traction.

We just need a governor who will not do what JBE has done as Governor and from there we can start some semblance of a recovery and build economic growth and stop the brain Drain.

As long as JBE's opponent is not a convicted felon or has serious and credible potential to be one, he will be getting my vote.

I don't think either of them run for governor. Scalise is probably president material. Kennedy would be stepping waaaaay back to become governor. He arguably exerts more power over the state from his current seat.

There you go again, putting words in my mouth that I never said or even implied.

In what world is a Louisiana senator more powerful than the Governor?

He had one of the most liberal voting records ever in the statehouse and he easily is one one of the most liberal governors we've ever had only behind Edwin and Huey.

He rides the middle enough to be at least be as centrist as Blanco.

I think thats all it will take. The GOP is going to nominate Landry and he's going to be viewed as an elitist just like Vitter was.

Landry will scatter the republicans and JBE will pick up enough swing vote to make it back

Why do you keep lying?

JBE has been calling special session after special session for more taxes and has been screaming and shouting for nearly a billion in revenue when all we needed was like 450-475 million. He's screaming and shouting for a budget that's on par with states that has a few more electoral votes than we do.

He's one of the biggest spenders in the country as we have a state government the size of Georgia while we have a few million less people in Louisiana.

That is not what a centrist does because h's a classic tax and spend liberal. Blanco never did anything of the sort like and I would be tickled pink to have her over JBE.

Jeff Landry is elite? What the frick?

Landry defeated a notoriously corrupt AG by painting him as elitist and corrupt and has been throwing some serious punches towards JBE.

Jeff Landry is a coonass from acadiana and he was a member of the house freedom caucus in Congress which is anything but elite.

Jeff Landry is elite? Trial lawyers are going after him with a ton of cash as he's the biggest pain in their arse and they are one of the biggest problems in this state.

Elite.

It doesn't matter who is governor, you'll get the same results.

Read Appel's articles published by the Hayride. They are reasoned and mature, unlike the above quote. We need some maturity for a change. If not Appel, I hope there is somebody else like him that will run.

He won't. He struck a deal with Kennedy. If Kennedy wins, Landry will be appointed to his Senate seat. If Kennedy loses, Landry remains as AG and is the front-runner in 2023.

Why would Kennedy run? Wouldn't he have to leave the Senate to do so? Senate retirement 10000»than governor.
