re: "Whistleblower" Jamie Raskin Leaks Stolen Attorney-Client Emails of Ghislaine Maxwell

Lawyer client privilege only applies to the two privilege involved and really only to the attorney. Attorney representing his client cannot divulge information his client gives or divulges to him without expressed approval from the client. Also means that it could not be part of a court proceeding.
Raskin is not bound or covered by that privilege. Prison officials however, are. So Raskin is free to do with that Information whatever he wants. It's not cool and most attorneys would avoid doing what Raskin did out of a professional courtesy
Prison officials in deep doo doo though.....if they are in fact the people who leaked the info in the first place.

He's an agent of the government. That's different from a private citizen.

Isn’t he also a member of the bar?

So Raskin broke the law. Democrats do it ALL the time. When will you people get it through your thick skulls, we have a two tiered Justice System in this country. Held together by legions of democrat Federal Judges and a SCOTUS too fearful of offending the anti-trump alliance. A Justice System so corrupt it allows the democrats to break the law with impunity.
And in this corner, a Justice System for Donald J. Trump and his MAGA supporters. For starters, none of these people involved in this awful fake dossier scheme designed to gain a FISA Warrant will face (or has faced) one day in prison. Especially Hildebeest. What you figur would happen to anyone of us if we lied to a Federal Judge or any judge for that matter?
Another thing....why is it we now have credible evidence that Thomas Matthew Crooks was trained by the CIA? No secret there were people in the FBI who wanted Trump dead. I still can't figure out why the roof of that building was left unsecured. A roof with a clear line-of-site to President Trump.
I'll say it - our Justice System is collapsing, America.

And did he pay and/or solicit the prison officials to violate someone's civil rights?

Reminder that revolutionaries do not care about the rule of law.
This is what many folks are missing...
The understanding of whats realy happening. The Marxist Dems have been launching a social and cultural revolution. America First is the counter revolution. The biggest weapon the Marxist Dems have in their revolution is the MSM propaganda machine.
They are actively using the liberties of America(which so many have died to protect) against us. Its pathetic.

So, these prison guards chose to put theirselves in major jeopardy out of the kindness of their heart? How did Raskin know these guards and why did they give him the emails? If Raskin paid these people he is in deep doodoo also.

This is outrageous. I hope she can't use this to help her appeals.

Appeals are "generally" about court, prosecutorial, or defense behavior. Maybe she can sue for millions under the guise of cruel and unusual punishment. After all, prisoners expect privilege with their attorneys and she obviously did not get it.

Hope you're right, although giving her millions would also be a terrible result imo.

Unfortunately as a Congressman he has a wide berth in these things. He could be referred for disbarment, but that's it. I'm not sure he cares. He's in a safe seat and not in any danger electorally. Maybe Maxwell's lawyer could sue him but the grounds would be extremely thin at best.
Prison officials have a lot of exposure if they indeed leaked the confidential emails. They are bound by ethics to honor the sanctity of the attorney / client discussions.
Actually surprised an attorney would allow correspondence via email. Emails are not necessarily secure and if done on a prison server even more of a risk....remember, they are wards of the state and the state is not necessarily obliged to guarantee privacy on electronic communications. That's why most communication with a client in jail is done face to face.
Not taking up for Raskin, just explaining the realities. Personally think that if you are an attorney and you come across another attorney's privileged correspondence, you should alert the attorney, turn it over and act as though you never saw it.

Board barristers can correct but I think raskin will play the angle where he didn't do the hacking so he did nothing wrong. Same protection the press gets. Which I don't agree with 100%, as abusable.
Though he isn't the press so not sure if that transfers to him. He is in Congress, and knows the law respects client/lawyer communication.
This really is a crazy known clear first, so the DOJ definitely needs to go after him. Maxwell needs to go after to him. Make him defend himself. Make sure he can't use taxpayer money to defend himself. Destroy the POS.
I didnt steal the money but the thieves gave me some of it and I spent it
that is a risky defense

Maybe it was planned. Maxwell and Raskin are probably related.

Oh for fricks sake Kiwi.
Obviously these prison guards knew there was a huge liability involved in doing this.
One, do you think a person just takes a plane to Colombia, loads it with cocaine, comes back to the US......AND THEN TRIES TO FIND A BUYER?
Two, why not sell it to the press, they could claim "sources" and protect them. Out of all the gin joints.... they chose Raskin.
Obviously Raskin offered to pay them and protect them, and they were dumb enough to fall for it. Probably promised a "shopped" judge in Austin to ultimately hear the case and let them go when it goes to trial. Then he will do the ole Harry Reid "oopps I lied".
