Every generation prior to the millennials used home ownership to aggregate wealth. Meanwhile, Millennials had a home buying opportunity during ZIRP seldom seen before.
Stereotypically, Millennials shirked that opportunity, uniquely opted to not "get tied down" with house notes, and instead to spend their money on "experiences" ... nice restaurants, parties, cool vacations.
Unfortunately, when those chickens came back to roost, they brought no personal accountability with them.
