What's your take on Trump allowing more beef imports into the US?

Beef prices are high due to a SHORTAGE of American beef. Cattle ranchers are pissed at at Trump, but they don't have the cattle numbers to address the shortage.
They don't have the stock to meet the demand.

We allow Vietnamese seafood, why not Argentinian beef?

I was in Walmart not too long ago looking at their shitty seafood selection and I saw salmon advertised as never frozen, imported from Chile.
Wtf?

Waiving the tariff on 300 tons of ground beef and allowing it to be sold up to 25% below market. Sounds like a sweet deal for the Argentinian ranchers.

The high prices of beef are one more result of the multinational corporations, Big Ag, that manipulate world wide prices to benefit their profits at American tax payer expense.
Trump's attempting to help regular folks paying the price.

Nah. It is mostly due to how we force ranchers to use only a couple of different packers that are halfway across the country from them. We have a bill in Congress to fix that, but it will likely never pass.

I ate at an Argentinian steak house in honor of this glorious move

It’s BS and an insult to farmers.

You guys didn’t want tariffs now you care about the ranchers?

Is that the Prime Act Massie introduced?
It's a shame the USDA is allowed to serve big corporations like this.
Kind of like the FDA and their upside-down food pyramid due to lobbyists.

The other thing that is killing local ranchers is these big corporations are being allowed to hire illegals while your smaller ranchers aren't able to break the law without fear of going bankrupt.
Instead of them getting raided, paying fines and everything else they should, the government looks the other way, and many republicans want to give those workers amnesty.
Tariffs don't help local ranchers.

Tariffs were implemented to protect them. You’re nitpicking now. Again like someone else asked do you look at every country of origin for all the food you buy at the store? Of course not but you’ll be outraged on a forum.
