It will hurt American cattle ranchers big time as they have to now deal with lower prices at a time when their costs are the highest ever
It’s like what trump is doing with the Jones Act waivers that he granted for foreign vessels working in US waters. He just keeps granting the waivers and the vessels just keep on taking American jobs

I buy my beef local. We buy half steer every year from neighbor. Plan to get a few head and raise my own beef in a couple years. Doesn't really impact me.

There is certainly no argument that McD's can usually maintain its supply. At least with meats.
The argument I made, however, is how much of their meats is actually meat.
Which has been a very, very, very long standing argument. Particularly to their burgers.

I hope you have enough acreage and the machinery to plant and harvest hay and a place to put it...cattle eat a lot.

See, you let them wash you. A shortage in production COULD POSSIBLY create a very short term lack of product, but it simply didn't. Never was there no meat on supermarket shelves.
But following your logic, that would cause a surplus of cows, which would..........flood the market and lower beef costs.
Packing plant slowdown was a myth, sold to all to artificially inflate pricing. Hasn't been covid for years, but prices are even higher. Hmmmmmmm?
