Somehow we need to go back to state based system. Wilson and Teddy Roosevelt started it, and FDR really ran with it. Dissolve the FBI and DOJ, and come up with a solution where each state sends officers on 4 year terms to serve in a federal oversight role. States should have their right to defend themselves as well with their own military.
The FBI should only operate like say Interpol
A clearinghouse between states to track actual interstate crimes.
Right now there are so many federal laws and bullshite that the FBI just does whatever the hell they want and frick any state laws

Repealing the 17th amendment would go a LONG way in reducing federal power by giving the states a bigger say in what gets forced down on them.

Term limits.
States are responsible for paying reps and their staff.
State determine when a rep gets a raise
All financial transactions of elected officials are public record.
This would be a great start.

Well, we certainly need to limit the time a person can backstroke in the DC Swamp.

-Somehow we need to go back to state based system.-
We have a state-based remedy in Art. V of the Constitution. States force a call for an amendments convention to propose term limits, fiscal restraints, and reducing the power of the federal government. The states control this convention and the the normal ratification of 3/4 of the states after the convention. At the convention, it's one state-one vote. The convention cannot be stopped by Congress, President, or the SCOTUS. 15 states have already approved this (including Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Texas). This is the best remedy short of violence. See Convention of States. LINK

If we had some real journalism that reports facts and exposes corruption, that would go a long way towards cleaning it up. However, that is extremely unlikely so it will probably take an actual insurrection. Which will then be followed by more corruption.

Vigilante justice is the only way and it will happen once people really start suffering. This country will be in a bad place when it does. There are currently no repercussions for politicians that stick it to working class Americans and small business owners. As this thing starts to crumble, politicians will start feeling the heat.
A great example is the keystone pipeline. Thousands of well paying jobs lost. But it is a political issue. You cant throw a rock and not hit a pipeline in the US. It the keystone pipeline is too dangerous to go ahead.
