Being forced to liquidate certain assets to avoid unrealized capital gains … at a time when everyone else is attempting to do the same.

Conservatives on this Board after Jan. 6 got a good dose of just what may happen, re *insurrectionist* speech. We had a nationally famous Thread totally deleted to protect many good folks who engaged in speculative theory, hyperbole, saber rattling and humor-based derision of Government (tyrannical?) overreach.
'Absolute power, corrupts absolutely'. Hell will break lose if the Collectivist Authoritarians like Harris attempts to ignore and remove Constitutional God-given "inalienable" Rights. Or maybe Patriots just lay down, turn their cheeks for the sake of 'peace' instead of a guaranteed collapse and anarchy, and go to next-life 'heaven'.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Knowing that my two young sons will grow up in an America that their grandparents wouldn't recognize. The Overton Window will keep shifting and living standards will keep decreasing. I shudder to think of what this country will be like by the time they are in their 30s and 40s.
My wife and I are determined to at least have houses ready for them by the time they are ready to start families. I will also be encouraging them to go into medicine or another very high-paying career that isn't easily replaced by AI. The middle class will be gone within 20 years or so, so it's either shoot for the moon in terms of income/profession or settle for being working poor.

Trump era tax cuts would most certainly be allowed to expire. The pass through and overall lower marginal rate would be devastating to me.
People need to read between the lines. When Kamela says no new taxes on the middle class she isn't exactly lying, but she's not exactly telling hte trust either.
