Yea just like Iraq had weapons of mass destruction we never found and we needed to invade Afghanistan just to fight there for 10 years only to leave and not gaining a single thing except good Americans dying for no reason.

It is a shame that grown arse men still believe the propaganda after we were gaslit for years to believe our actions were justified over this threat that never existed.

Lives lost, soldiers maimed, innocent civilians killed, trillions of tax dollars wasted, all for what? To create more enemies than we had before it started.

As Osama Bin Laden once said, we do not hate you for your freedoms, we hate you because of what you are doing here in our lands.

Your analysis is basically correct, but you lose credibility with this. Iran was certainly not going to attack America, especially with nukes. That would have been instant death, and before you claim that’s a good thing to them, let me point out that it would not have accomplished anything; America would still exist; their regime would not exist; and Islam would have been set back by their foolhardiness.

I guess what's so hard for most of you to understand is that the world is run by the war industry.

The world is, was, and always will be run by war.

Act surprised that man figured out he can profit from it.

You sound exactly like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld in 2003. Exact same rhetoric.

The only sadness I see is coming from you. If you wanted to have a mature debate, youd be curious at how I arrived at my conclusion. I’d be happy to provide supporting evidence.

It's not enough to just look at Iran and ask, "Why can't we just make a deal and move on?" That may have worked for other enemies like North Korea. They wanted stability and economic prosperity and feared death, just like us. So, Mutually Assured Destruction worked.

But it doesn't work against a religion that commands its followers to cleanse the world with as much chaos as possible, that celebrates martyrdom as a promotion, and that calls America the "Great Satan."

The Iranian Marxists learned this the hard way. In 1979, they thought they could negotiate and share power with the Twelvers to overthrow the Shah. But as soon as their revolution was successful and Khomeini took power, they were the first to be thrown off the roofs.

Until the public understands that fundamental history and worldview, we will keep asking why diplomacy fails. It's because Iran isn't playing by Western rules of survival. It's playing to destroy the "Great Satan."

Well, so far, Iran’s ballistic missiles substantially remain intact. Iranstill has a nuclear program. The only change that affects the world is the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. I don’t think that’s what we were aiming for. Trump had no plausible strategy going in. Despite all the bullshite tossed around by Trump and his acolytes, we were better off with the terms of the JCPOA.

The United States had to act.

So why didn't Trump make his case to the American people before the election?

Because he would have gotten his arse whipped by the black bimbo, and you know it.

Trumptards are so fricking stupid, they believe every turd that comes out of his mouth.

No more wars.

It will be over in a few weeks.

And yeah, if you want to actually win this fricking war, you have to have boots on the ground to defeat the enemy, and it's pure stupidity to assert otherwise.

Or did we really sacrifice American lives and billions of dollars in material for a fricking "memorandum of understanding" with the Islamic crazies who will just keep breaking it forever?

Here's what's gonna happen: this war will drag on and on. It will be an issue not just in November, but beyond. It will become increasingly unpopular with the American people. Then, if Vance and/or Rubio want to be President, they will have to distance themselves from Trump. Then, as he always does with anyone who crosses him, he'll attack them.

Vance/Rubio's "Kamala moment" is coming anyway. Harris really started to go down in flames when she went on The View and said she couldn't think of anything she would have done differently from Biden. At some point, Vance/Rubio will be asked the exact same question by someone, and they'd better answer it a helluva lot better than she did. And then Trump attacks them. Vance is in a helluva lot better position than Rubio, because Trump can't fire him. And according to multiple reports, before Trump started the war, Vance advised against it.

It’s not just about the nukes. They have been responsible for killing a hell of a lot of American Citizens including our military personnel over the years. We can keep letting the body count accumulate over time until finally we look around and say enough of that or we can just deal with this problem. Letting them nibble at the edges until they can kill us in one mass attack is not a strategy worth a damn. It sucks but sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say that’s enough. It may not be what anyone wants but it’s the only choice we have.

Go ahead and admit it. If he tells the American people this before the election, Kamala fricking Harris is President today.

Something certainly had to be done but Trump and Handsome Pete didn’t anticipate not only the response from Iran, but their capabilities correctly.

They were both typical and predictable - this is going to be loud, quick and over in days, and they ignored the input from their military leaders IRT the SOH being Key Terrain.

Last year's strike was brief, surgical, and we were led to believe VERY effective. This year, they don't have a clear strategic objective or attainable endstate. All they have demonstrated is that now, and FOREVER into the future, Iran will negatively impact the SOH as part of their strategic defense. Sad...and worse, incompetent.

Was Iran playing by Western rules when their elected government was overthrown by the CIA in the 50s?

We installed a dictator to protect shareholder value of a British oil company.

We are casually pussy footing with re-installing a dictator in Iran while bombing the piss out of Iran.

Iran’s current government is awful and I wish they would moderate. But we created this Frankenstein through foreign meddling.

From the MOU: 6. The United States of America undertakes with regional partners to develop a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 11.The United States of America undertakes to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the implementation of this MoU. The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on the procedures related to the release of these funds during the negotiations Source BTW thanks for reminding me of the fact that we were ALSO, on top of giving the world's greatest sponsor of terrorism 300 billion, going to unfreeze billions of their assets in foreign banks.

Since you went to the effort of highlighting part of section 6 you should read section 11.

This was not a mistake! There would never be a good time and people would always complain. Iran was building a huge arsenal of missiles and could already bully that region. So besides the nuclear issue that they were most definitely seeking (No matter how close they were), something needed to be done. Regardless if Israel pushed it or not, kicking the can down the road once again would be much worse! Now, we need to destroy them once and for all. No deals that they won't follow.
