This I the same message we heard about Iraq. You’re buying the propaganda.

The fact is that our own intel said Iran was no closer to a bomb than they’ve been before. Tulsi said this. Joe Kent who was in charge of US National Counterterrorism said the President is shielded from people with opinions that don’t align with the Hawks. They’ve been saying Iran was close to a bomb for YEARS. Think about that.

Iran is a bad actor. We don’t like them. Hit them brutally when they mess with us. I had no issue with blowing up their uranium. But this was a huge misstep. I had no issue killing Solemani(sp?). I think Trump was sold on the idea that this would cause regime change. I think he was sold on Iran wanting to target him and his family. We were led down this path by Israel and people that profit on war. They’re very good at controlling the message to manipulate and get what thy want.

This was a huge misstep. We have way too many domestic issues that need to addressed. Ukraine is still sucking money out of us….this shite has to end.

I don’t know how old you are but ballooning housing, food, crumbling infrastructure, higher electricity costs, etc. are magnitudes more important to me and most Americans than whatever the frick is happen in Iran.

Yes that is the plan. Guess who will be paying that and will essentially control Iran? I will give you 3 guesses. Do not come with a post when you do not understand the dynamics of the deal. It just makes you look like an idiot. Do some more research.

This is where I sit with things as well.

Obviously Trump can't publicly admit that he made a mistake but I truly believe he regrets listening to the people that helped nudge him into this conflict.

Then we finally have to send our best of us over to fight and slog over all the territory Europe managed to lose. Had we just stood up at the beginning I often wonder how many lives could be saved by not allowing the enemy in the Pacific and Europe to take all that territory we had to fight back across.

True, but this was a time when we couldn’t print money out of thin air. And how many Americans died to defend Europe? Obviously it was for the greater good but there was wisdom to our position to stay out of it.

I don’t think people realize the shitstorm we’re all in with the $2T deficit were accumulating every year.

Plus, Japan bombed us to get us into WW2. We’re in Iran because of what we’ve been told by media and politicians. We really don’t know aht is actually happening in Iran.

844_Tiger why can't you and those that upvote you understand that Trump offered them the world because he knew they would not take it. Trump did all of that to show what most people on this MB already knew. The IRGC will never make a deal regardless of how favorable it is. This exposed how batshit crazy they are and has cemented in the knowledge world wide that the IRGC needs to be dealt with now.

No we are in Iran because we have been negotiating with them for decades and haven’t even sniffed anything resembling a legit deal with them. Obama tried to buy them off but they still cheated. If they won’t accept the carrot then at some point you have to beat them with the stick. I think 20 or 30 years of negotiations are enough to prove that a deal is not possible so we are left with the choice of the stick.

It’s not just about the nukes. They have been responsible for killing a hell of a lot of American Citizens including our military personnel over the years. We can keep letting the body count accumulate over time until finally we look around and say enough of that or we can just deal with this problem. Letting them nibble at the edges until they can kill us in one mass attack is not a strategy worth a damn. It sucks but sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say that’s enough. It may not be what anyone wants but it’s the only choice we have.

I understand preventing them from having nuclear weapons. What I don’t understand is getting stuck in conflict we can’t get out of. It’s Bush all over again.

Well in that case we either declare war and go in and smash them for their actions against Americans or try to contain them like we’ve done in the past for everyone else.

This halfway shite isn’t going to work and has us in this situation.

And what mass attack are you worried about? Why hasn’t Russia, N Korea, Pakistan, China killed us with one mass attack?

What a lot of people fail to recognize is Trump just accelerated their plan. They were always preparing for this as an inevitability.

Trump has not handled this great I will admit. We should have been way more prepared for what came next after the air campaign was done. We certainly should not be negotiating at this point. A deal would do more harm than good at this point. They will stay in power and build back if left in power. We will be going back in 10,15,20 years if we don’t do this now. It will be bloodier then. The weapons will just get more advanced and kill more people. We are already leaving the kids of today a huge debt. Probably be passing off the Chinese problem to them too. At least we can do is take this problem off their plate and clean up our own mess for once.

When all is said and all is done, we will have spent about $20 trillion dollars from 2001-2030 winning hearts and minds in the Middle East through war. And achieved nothing but debt and dead soldiers.

Saddam may not be the hero we wanted, but he was the hero we need.

If we just let him have Kuwait I guarantee he would’ve already solved the Iranian problem. Would have the rest of the region on a tight leash too.

Accelerated their plan. I don’t care if this place is anonymous, you folks in your private lives have zero self-respect or dignity, to be able to allow yourselves to sink so low to put this kind of stuff out there, for a mere “gotcha last.” I honestly wasn’t aware that people could come up with this sadness.

And I know I’ve pondered why Trump hasn’t come out with clarification and further explanation for some of the most sensitive aspects of this thing (same with any other issue of this degree), clear the air, put some of this constant bickering and complaining to bed……but I now am fully convinced he hasn’t done so because those who know, know (way more than don’t), and those like we’re experiencing here, he knows they’re not capable, so avoid the absolute certainty of wasted time, as well as possibly openly divulging information for the sake of assisting these folks expand their capabilities when there’s zero chance of positive results.

I agree this halfway shite ain’t working. I’m right there with you. We should drop the hammer if we were going to do this at all and play to win this time.

Iran is closer to the Imperial Japanese than Russia, China, or the rest. Self preservation doesn’t matter to Iran just like it didn’t matter to the Japanese during WW2. Look at what it took to make them give up. 2 nuclear strikes. And some in the Japanese leadership still wanted to fight but the Emperor surrendered anyway. Fanatics and radicals that treat life so frivolously because they think God or the Emperor wants them to die for the cause is insane. You can’t talk to insane people like that. We can’t reason with people that treat mass murder as a tactic to get whatever they want.

The fact that we underestimated Iran’s missile capacity is a huge problem. We need to get out before it’s too late.

We could look at that the other way also. We didn’t know they had a missile capable of hitting London or Paris. We should wait till they develop one to go a little bit further?

3. Let them destroy Israel. Ain’t our problem. Those Jews and Muslims will be fighting until humanity is extinct.
4. This escalation or skirmish will only embolden them against us cause we’re pussyfooting around, and they know once they get a nuke they’ll have all the chips.

Trump fricked up on this.

This is stupid. We are dismantling them.
