You've got it backwards.
It was never Europe that threatened to occupy Western Russia.
And it's not that China won't come to their aid.
It's Eastern Russia that will get occupied.
And it's China that will do the occupation.
China let Russia walk into a trap with their No Limits Partnership. In effect signing off on their invasion of Ukraine.
If it's successful China gets more oil, gas, coal, and grain from warm water Ukrainian ports occupied by Russia. So that's a win.
If it's a failure then China gets a dramatically weaker Russia. That reduces the price of Nat Gas on the Power of Siberia line. And it makes Russia defenseless to a Chinese occupation of Siberia.
China wins either way. As usual.

Russia will take Odessa and Kiev leaving a rump state. Once everything must come into Ukraine via train through Poland the Ukrainian nazis will be toast.

So you disagree that Ukraine military has been degraded! Then how do you explain them not being able to shoot down a single missile in recent days? Not even their capital city!!!

Look I didn't come here to preach for or against Ukraine. But facts are facts and those facts are the same regardless of which side of this conflict you are on.
But the facts are that up until today, Russia has month over month increased the amount of land they occupy.
Ukraine has been losing ground, been losing personnel that they can not replace fast enough.
I am not a Russian fan boy, here to pump up russia or Putin. The do have problems in Crimea. But losing it to Ukraine isn't one of them. The issue from the Russian side of it is how vulnerable it is due to the difficulty in getting supplies to basically and island.
The question is not whether Russia can hold Crimea they question is how much pain can Ukraine inflict due to Russia holding it.
Russia will have to deal with internal issues due to the war. Public unrest as they grow tired of sacrificing with the end not yet in sight.
But from a physical stand point, russia is producing as much military hardware as they are using. Tanks, aircraft, armored transport are all being made at levels that prevent that from being an issue of the battle front.
Those are all facts. Pro Ukraine or pro Russia.

I don’t think Russia is going to give up access to that warm water port. Isn’t the bulk of their navy stationed there?

I don’t think we’re there yet, but in 6 months to a year (assuming things to go poorly for Russia in the war) that a peace deal could be made where Crimea becomes an independent country but Russia retains its naval base there along with some of the land they’ve taken to remain Russian.

Yes, and while Russia isn’t about to lose Crimea, they are having a tough time managing things there and elsewhere.
