No. This is a national problem which reflects a lack of value placed on the education of our next generation of citizens.

She is getting paid plenty

She can't manage money

Her primary job is almost 50% higher than the median household income in her area. She claims to have 2 part time jobs in addition to that job and donates plasma for extra money.

Her husband also works according to the article. They don't have an income problem. They're incompetent with money. And not just a little incompetent. Extremely incompetent.

Probably a liberal. She should just be thankful she isn't in the camps yet.

This makes teachers unique how?

No one is really paid for what they do.

In rural Kentucky, where her house payment is probably $1000, it’s perfectly good compensation.

Here is this fool's public testimony:

-$0 in savings
-$36k in student loans at 8% that she cannot pay
-She cannot afford a down payment to own a home
-Debt collections from surgery
-Bad credit
-She & husband have started a history tour business in Kentucky that's not doing well, but it makes him FEEL good.
-She spent $45 she didn't have on pancakes for students because they did well on a test.

In her missive I've titled "Woe is Me," she asks "What is wrong with this picture?" She also says, "We are the front line of a decaying society."

For her to be so "educated," she's too stupid to know that SHE is the reason for our decaying society. Rather than owning herself as being the failure she is, she takes the route of victimization.

The woman is an idiot & her outlook is the reason for our "decaying society." She complains about those who pay taxes paying less as if they're taking from her. The woman is ignorant as to how things work & is the target for people in the media. The woman is a damned fool.

We don't get paid all that well. I really have no clue how teachers can afford to live in larger cities

Teaches don’t get paid well?

The average Public School Teacher salary in Louisiana is $51,824 as of September 01, 2018, but the range typically falls between $45,246 and $59,831.

Meanwhile, the median household income for Louisiana is $45,146.

I hate when teaches bitch about salary.

In rural KY your house payment would only be that if you bought right now. She's 52. If she bought when she was 40 she should have a little bit lower payment.

I bought in a more expensive market in 15 and really bought a lot more than I needed and mine is not much higher than 1000

I was just going by the value of the last house she lived in. They seem to have some failed real estate investments or something.

If she doesn’t want to be poor she should find a job that pays more IMO.

Her problem isn’t an income problem, but more than likely a spending problem. How much is she tossing away each month in car payments? Is she buried in credit card debt and unable to dig her way out? Says she has a masters degree too. How much student loan debt is she carrying around? You can make 200 grand a year but if you spend every penny of it, you’ll struggle to make ends meet too.

This kind of thinking is the problem. She earns a respectable middle class salary, but at 52, has $0 in savings. She has NOTHING. At $60k/yr, that's a problem of outflow, NOT inflow.

Your "get a job that pays more" is very true were she flipping burgers. She isn't. Though that isn't to say she's that much smarter than those who make her meals twice per day.
