When you look at where America ranks in education compared to the rest of the world they are grossly overpaid.

Start getting us better results first then we'll consider a raise.

She’s making around $300/contract day or $38/hr. She has fricked up her life. It’s none of our problems.

It’s probably the crushing medical bills to keep her fatass alive.

Yep, but she looks like she has a dozen or so cats to feed.

A slight bump in pay and/or higher chance of being hired, I’m guessing.

Most areas which benefit from having a masters are ones where the market is so flooded with bachelor degree holders that you have to get a masters to do something in your field.

A Masters Degree in education= $100k+ in Student Loans which are put into deferment, then into income based repayment plans which don’t cover the interest which causes the balance to never be repaid and actually increase over time.

This pisses me off.

My wife is a high school teacher with a master's degree in the poorest state win the union. She makes $56,000. Now, if she were single, she might not live in as big of a house or drive as nice of vehicle, but she wouldn't be working two extra jobs and donating plasma.

We need to start asking these questions - what is this lady's problem?

One thing that is a bit overlooked here is the following:

Teachers claim they spend this fricking enormous amount of time out of the classroom preparing lesson plans and grading papers (you'd think they were putting in a solid 65 hours a week)

Well if that's the case how does this wretched woman have time to work 2 extra jobs and donate plasma? Shouldn't she be bogged down with the grueling task of putting in all of this extra time outside of work hours?

not Surprised they picked Kentucky. The governor is trying to get rid of the teacher’s pension for new teachers and go to a 401k like system. The union is obviously against that. There is more to it than just that but it is a big deal in Kentucky right now.

Article says she is married, teaches, works parttime at Rupp Arena, and helps run a tour company with her husband.

It doesn’t go into what her costs are, how many kids they have, etc, from what I can tell.

Cost of living in Kentucky is relatively low. 2 part time jobs plus plasma donation should be able to cover her cost of living.

Yes, and there's some specifically for teachers, too.
