I was always a Democrat since my family was for the most part.
Never voted Republican but once because dad asked me to vote for one of his friends.

Ronald Wilson Reagan. High School.
"The problem with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but they know so much that isn't so."
"Government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem."
So many more and still true today.

I grew up hearing the stories of the commie revolution in Korea.
My Senior year of high school I watched the twin towers fall in my first hour class. My senior year of college was Katrina. The failures of our government in the aftermath of each created the perfect storm to receive Ron Paul's message from his 2008 campaign for president.

I voted for Ronald Reagan during a school wide election in 2nd grade.
I quit playing soccer that year as well because my Dad said it was a communist sport!
I had some really good parenting!!!

I am from south Alabama/peanut country as is Georgia. When Carter was installed as president and I saw the energy crisis and I knew he was a puppet. When Reagan brought us out of it but had to trade amnesty to millions of immigrants I knew he had made a deal with the devil to save our country. The short term affects were awesome as the 80s and early 90s were the best times this country has ever seen. That deal with the devil that Reagan made has reared its ugly head. I am 57 and fear that the life I had as a youngster and mid life adult may be over if the Dems get back control. Everyone in the south was dem until Reagan showed the way. Now it is MAGA country but Congress is treating the population as if it the 1850s.

Was in a high school call Hi-Y with friends back in the late 70’s. Mainly because of the mixing with the girls Tri Hi-Y from other school getting together. One particular event during Baton Rouge legislative session we had an event during the week up there and even in the 70’s you could see the difference between the clowns. We got to make bills and vote between clubs representing their schools which was fun in 11th grade. One of my friends put together a bill that someone actually picked up and got passed as law. All that said it was the parties and those girls schools that were the real reasons for joining club

Jimmy Carter made me a Republican.

I can't seem to sidestep basic pragmatism, logical thinking, and understanding of basic economic principals. In retrospect, I've been a conservative since the Carter admin, during which I was in the second grade.
BTW my mom has TDS and my dad has voted D for the past 20 years. So no accusations of indoctrination.

I've always been a republican and supported bush because he was the greatest president we've ever had
I even supported bob dole even though he was a sacrificial lamb because the establishment knew he wouldn't win
ETA: one time I got one of those canvassing jobs for some democrat candidate, I can't remember who it was. They asked me if i supported the candidate and I remember thinking at the time that I would canvas for the devil for 14 bucks an hour
I rode my skateboard around and knocked on doors in the ghetto north of lsu and nobody really answered but I got a lot of sketchy looks. I only worked one shift because I figured I got lucky not getting shot. They sent my check in the mail and I was rich for a day or two
