I generally don't get it. Housing has slowed down and commercial construction is slowing down. Inflation is still out of control in raw materials and food. Tech sector is laying people off en masse, retail and fast food is laying off en masse.

What keeps the dollar still king, and why doesn't the market crash?

The full faith and confidence of the United states of America.

In other words. It’s a joke.

What maintains this? Are the moves being made by BRICS about to put an end to this?

The media assigns the public its opinions.

The assignment is that the market is stable and will come out OK.

The collapse is imminent....

All signs point in bad direction....Economics is strictly numbers, and numbers do not lie.

While the stock market is overvalued, some stocks got hammered to reasonable values. Energy Stocks held the market up today. With Biden in office and OPEC back in control, they should hold up ok.

1st Qt earnings coming later in April... we'll see what happens then.

Inflation means money isn’t safe just sitting.
Real estate prices are cratering, so it’s not safe to park money in land.
Commodities spoil, so you can only hoard so much, especially when you factor in the costs of storage.
Treasury and bond yields are not high enough to beat inflation, so they’re a safe way to lose money.

The stock market at least offers a chance for a return that beats inflation.

Weekly/biweekly/monthly

I wonder what the monthly payroll of the US economy is.

If there are twice as many dollars as they were 5 years ago and the Stock Market is the same that really means stocks fell by 50%.

I'm not sure what this all means for the stock market. I was just addressing the "OMG France just accepted Yuan for a LNG shipment so the dollar is finished" crowd.

The dollar is finished.
The plug just has not yet been pulled on the life support machines.
When it happens, it will be quick, and it will be ugly.
