What is the pentagon doing with one trillion dollars this year?

It’s not winning wars. It’s not producing missiles. It’s not maintaining Navy ships.
Where is the money going?

Eric and Don Jr's drone companies

It is setting the stage to beg for 1.5 trillion dollars next year.

You see the wishlist that was pumped out earlier this year? They've got to pay the Military Industrial Complex for the frick up's that need to be fixed, the future frick up's in the planning stages, and the frick up's already under construction. The Pentagon has a massive problem called Congress. Instead of purchasing the best available equipment from wherever, Congress mandates everything be American made to keep their financial contributions coming in from Defense Contractors

In the past the people in charge at the Pentagon has done a very poor job at planning and fighting wars. This time though we have to cut them some slack. They have been handcuffed the past few months. Even if they had a perfect plan and strategy to win the conflict with Iran they couldn’t execute the plan because the politicians will not get out of the way.

A not-insignificant amount of the Pentagon’s budget goes to things that can’t be listed and are geared towards using and developing things that can’t be public. I get that.
That said, the United States Department of Defense is also the single biggest waster (if that is a word) of money in the history of the planet.
Two things can be true. But the Navy in particular has generally been an enormous waste of money for three decades. I believe we’re on our fourth consecutive new ship design that’s been billions of dollars in before realizing that what we designed won’t work (Zumwalts and DDGX and FFG) or that what we built was totally useless (LCS program)
Is there any part of the federal government more useless and ineffective than Naval procurement?
We can barely put out a Burke and an SSN per year. Carriers take a decade. Any new class of ship takes a decade to lay a keel. Totally embarrassing. We will lose naval supremacy because of our dogshit building capacity.

They aren’t just suddenly built more quickly. It’ll be years and years before we make up the difference.
We need a kick in the arse.

$500 hammers, $1000 toilet seats

Our allies in Moscow and Pyongyang.

And buying more midrats for Bunky to see.

A massive percentage of the defense budget is wasted on pensions, benefits, and services. It’s a bloated bureaucracy that needs to be downsized dramatically. It’s unsustainable

What a stupid fricking question!!
The cost involved in deploying military space defense or next gen weaponry or advanced drone programs or any number of defense spending..... the Pentagon WOULD NOT tell the public and for very good reason!!!
Your either simply trolling and trying to create confusion, doubt and chaos (like evil does) or your a fricking retard or your impossibly dishonest....
Maybe all three!!
GFY

I agree. There's surely some of that, but the expense of researching and developing new military technologies, especially in space, must have astronomical cost.
And the Pentagon surely can't share that information with the public

All that noise just to tell everybody you didn’t understand the question.

Nobody asked for blueprints to a hypersonic missile.

This is one way all the black projects get funded. The Pentagon doesn’t lose billions or trillions of dollars every year. They know exactly where the money is going. They just claim incompetence because most of that lost money is being diverted to black programs that they do not want to leave a paper trail. Most of those type programs they do not want to deal with Congressional oversight so they develop these programs outside the norm. They pay 1000 bucks for a toilet seat to have trail leading to incompetence and waste rather than classified black programs.

I have been thinking about that a lot with the news the past few weeks. I heard someone say the problem is the MIC exists to get contractors rich, not properly equip our military.
