To be fair, I said I was looking for sports athletes/figures and people who were icons. Ric Flair is arguably the most famous wrestler ever, and wrestling at one time was very popular. He was also kind of a cultural icon of the US in the 70s and 80s. There might be better options but I dont think he is a bad one tbh

Idk Hank Aaron broke the home run record in the deep south and was applauded for it. He is also the greatest Braves player in history, which is the primary MLB team for the South. I wouldn't argue against for any of the ones you just listed being on the list, except Bo Jackson
