Marcus Spears literally said in the documentary that LSU was for the white people and Southern was for the black.
They also said black kids hated LSU

My super hot take: I could see Texas targeting Heupel. A former OU player like Darrell Royal and a decent HC. It would be interesting to see what Heupel could do with unlimited resources, but I'm not sure how much of an upgrade he is over Sark. Outside of like 3 coaches in the country, a lot are the same.

Tech, Florida, and Auburn
People are such victims of recency bias. You can hate other teams but that doesnt make them your rival.

The AP voted Texas ATM the National champs, and they had fewer ranked wins than Tennessee. There was so much bias against SEC teams back then

We also could easily claim 1914 (undefeated), 1927 (same record as the teams that claim it), and 1939 (undefeated and unscored on at the time of the Natty vote).
