What is a “military grade” rifle?

I’m curious as to what makes a firearm military grade. Is it the detachable mag? A modular stock?
Also, could a proponent of gun control please define “machine gun” for me? I’d really like to see where your heads are on all this.

It’s the liberal opinion of how scary it is that decides

That's something that people who know nothing about guns say

That’s what I’m getting at. Why does everyone think they can debate a subject they’re literally clueless about?

It looks like the rifles they see in war movies so they think it’s a military weapon.

Same as what is a “weapon of war”. Liberals throw out these phrases and have absolutely no idea what they mean

Military Grade = “M” (for military). Duh!!

If it looks scary. I had a sjw on facebook tell me the reason AR-15’s are used by murderers is because they look like military weapons. The fact that they look like an army rifle and scary illicits fantasies of killing humans in crazy people. They are so scary looking that their appearance somehow beguiles these innocent children and makes them commit mass murder. They can’t help or stop themselves because the weapon looks so terrifying.
I shiite you not.

During the assault rifle ban of the 90's they defined an assault rifle by the following features:
1) Flash suppressor
2) Pistol grip
3) Magazine more than 10 rounds
4) Bayonet lug
There might have been one or two other "features", but that was the main gist of it. However, the ban did not ban all of those features. You could still make (or import) rifles with 2 of the 4 features. So, for instance, you could have a pistol grip and a 30 round mag as long as you didn't have a flash suppressor or bayonet lug on the same rifle.
Overall, the ban did absolutely nothing. People were still buying new rifles with 30 round mags and pistol grips. They just didn't have a flash suppressor on the end of the barrel (big deal).

It's a great sign that the speaker of those words has no clue about guns.

I guess the M1 Garand isn't an assault rifle then.

During the assault weapons ban, I bought an AK47 with two 30 round mags and a flash suppressor. The importer welded a ring over the bayonet lug so it conformed to the letter of the law. I then had a gunsmith remove the ring to make the bayonet lug functional again.

The definition is about as clear as the definition of "common sense gun control."

Yeah, I wouldn't be telling anyone that. (I know lots of people modified them, but it was illegal as hell - not sure if it matters now since the ban expired).

One thing that will throw gun control advocates for a loop is when they discover the AR pistol. Those things are the definition of fitting into a gray area.

Too late. Already reported him to the Ministry of Truth and Tolerance.

That’s kinda my point here. Nothing there changes the lethality of a firearm, or does anything to actually curb potential shootings.
