re: What is a “military grade” rifle?

Clueless liberals judge a gun by how scary it looks. The anti AR-15 crowd probably wouldn’t think twice about this gun, not even knowing its semi-automatic and can accept extended magazines that hold 30 rounds or more. It just doesnt look scary.

Yep. The only way gun control will ever truly work is if you ban pretty much everything outside of antique muskets or something.

And even if you ban the sale of all new firearms tomorrow, you still have like 300 million guns in circulation. So what do you do about that? You might get half of them with a buyback program , but what about the rest? You'd have to send in the Army and, obviously, that ain't gonna fly. We're never going to be England or Australia without a civil war. Just ain't gonna happen.

Therefore, the only real answer short of a total ban is putting crazy people on "lists." But that has it's own set of 4th amendment issues. And even if you do that, a determined criminal will still find a way. It might stop some of them, but some will slip through.

Humans are not peaceful by nature.
