I hereby express my sincere thanks to Chicken for intervening personally this morning and releasing me from my unjust one-year exile to Banland, for the grave offense of being a reasonably-eloquent dissenting voice in the Echo Chamber.
Time will tell how long it takes for me to again be banned for providing an objective counter to the prevailing Groupthink.

I’ve asked the cluckster himself to reinstate KCT in the threads on the OT, and it is always conspicuously ignored. I don’t take that as a good sign for Karla. Bless her heart.

Flats, I tend to get hit with the banhammer when I let myself get frustrated with a barrage of personal attacks which arise 100% from the Groupthink response to my substantive positions.
Like John Dalton, I just need to control my temper and remind myself that childish personal insults are nothing more than an impotent response to a winning argument. They mean nothing. If the best response to my substantive position is a personal insult, I have already won the debate. No need to respond in kind.

My most-recent ban was unjustified, but I still should have known better. I engaged in a substantive disagreement about a disingenuous position taken on a substantive topic by someone I KNEW to be a Mod with a thin skin. I should never have expected an objective, adult response from that particular individual. Lesson learned.

Maybe not always a "winning" argument, but this generally is advice that we would all do well to remember.
