I thinks its going to bite a lot of people in the arse come tax time next year. Most people think it’s just free money. They don’t realize it’s just an advance on the normal child tax credit.

I hate refundable credits, but at the same time I support anything that allows people to keep more of their own money.

So I guess I'm saying "it depends."

I get the “advance” child tax credit. I put it into my savings account because I’ll have to give it right back to Uncle Sam and then some. You know, because I have a job and all…..

Can you specify?

Are you referring to this silliness they've been handing out each month of late or, are you referring to the child tax credit that is part of our normal filing?

This is kinda me. I'd prefer there were no income taxes. Taxing income is retarded.

But, since that's what we do, I'm not averse to the child tax credit because having children is something we should want more of.

It is an attempt to put all children in state run indoctrination centers. No schools with religious affilation, this is Trojan horse.

I think they should double it and only couples filing married jointly should be eligible.

I am for anything that decreases your tax burden even to zero. But not having to pay any tax should be the floor. You should never receive other peoples money that pay in if you are paying nothing.
