Corrupt and undemocratic political machines and their bosses were a major target of progressive reformers. To revitalize democracy, progressives established direct primary elections, direct election of senators (rather than by state legislatures), initiatives and referenda,[4] and women's suffrage which was promoted to advance democracy and bring the presumed moral influence of women into politics.[5] For many progressives, prohibition of alcoholic beverages[6] was key to eliminating corruption in politics as well as improving social conditions.
Another target were monopolies, which progressives worked to regulate through trustbusting and antitrust laws with the goal of promoting fair competition. Progressives also advocated new government agencies focused on regulation of industry.[7]
An additional goal of progressives was bringing to bear scientific, medical, and engineering solutions to reform government and education and foster improvements in various fields including medicine, finance, insurance, industry, railroads, and churches. They aimed to professionalize the social sciences, especially history,[8] economics,[9] and political science[10] and improve efficiency with scientific management or Taylorism.[11][12]
MAGA is just a redoux of the Progressive era (1901-1929)

All proteins are not the same - in terms of quality and bioavailability. If mostly derived from animal sources, than highly preferable to mostly derived from, say, peas.
Where did you get that information? Peer-reviewed research in a nutritional journal published by nutritionists?
I’m only half-joking. You’re absolutely right (although I would argue the amplitude of change for someone getting 100 % of their protein from red meat vs poultry vs fish vs dairy vs plant-based is not all that terribly different if you’re in the 1+ g protein per kg body weight or better).
The point is… while arguing that nutritionists don’t know what they’re talking about, the fact is what you do know and trust about nutrition comes from science/nutritionists.

just what the hell are we putting in our bodies that the government seems to be okay with?

Processed foods are the big problem....too many hydrogenated oils/fats and chemical additives that are horrible for you.

I wonder what RFK thinks about the Ginormous Chickens we are all eating today? They're cheap, but those expensive, scrawny organic chickens taste a whole lot better.

I hope he gets some of the unnecessary chemicals out of foods, incentives companies to use sugar instead of HFC, and incentives the use of animal fats over seed oils.
I’m not sure if that fixes much; however, going back to pre 1980’s food construction at least removes one variable out of the obesity/diabetes problem .

The biggest thing he could do to improve health in this country is get the cost of those weight loss medications down to the prices they pay in Canada and the EU.
Also, I’m guessing he is not going to get the green light to ban aspartame

Why would you ever sell non grassfed beef if they cost less AND sell for higher?
Because you need a shite ton of land for grass fed. You need 3-5 acres each, or even more depending on your land.

We banned asbestos a long time ago too. Are we being destroyed as a nation because of that policy?
Idiot.
Idiot.

So I just volunteered at my local food bank.
There were so many cans of food donated by Walmart that cannot be sold because the cans are dented (but still safe to eat).
Canned and frozen vegetables are not too expensive. Neither is rice and beans and peanut butter.
Powdered milk isn't too expensive either.
Maybe if you cut down on giving them addictive sweets and carbs, they will be more motivated to work.

This retarded mindset is why conservatives lost a grip on society in the first place.

Hopefully….,same food different ingredients.
Hopefully one of the biggest improvements will be an effort to get us back to evidence based research in healthcare. Get the pharm companies out of our research.

If those people aren’t willing to hold their politicians’ feet to the fire and keep them honest, then maybe they’re bad people were better off without, right?

A lot of the stuff he's talking about is just food coloring. It won't impact taste at all

Don’t help her. She can figure it out on her own. Like the other retard was saying, if losers can’t just figure it out, they don’t deserve to live! Let her figure it out.
