What do we do when the poles shift and all that sequestered carbon erupts out?

Like giant mushroom clouds of sequestered carbon boom all at once?
Will plants thrive?

Be witnesses to it.
Doesn’t sound like anything we have control of.

How many taxes can I pay to stop this?
How many Hail Greta’s?
Tell me which billionaire and priceless art on which to throw orange paint!?!

Die or live like Alice in wonderland breathing shroom clouds.

Be sure to take a deep breath while happening. Will help with your anxiety

Of course they will and we will eat well, too.

Every once in a while, don’t you kind of want to see a real apocalyptic event unfold? Just to see how you would do?
It’s half the movies and tv shows being made now, it’d be interesting to see which show was closest to being right.

Make sure the insurance is paid up and you are right with God.
Life has enough drama in real life. I don’t waste resources on a whole lot of “What if”.

We could not pump concentrated carbon dioxide into the ground?

Sure. Let’s look at the numbers.
A major volcano eruption could release 50,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Using current carbon capture technology that 50,000,000 tons could be recaptured and stored back into the ground.
But the energy required to capture the 50,000,000 tons would in turn release 40,000,000 tons into the atmosphere to do the capture.
So you have a 10 million ton net gain from only one volcano. The cataclysmic event in the OP appears to be overwhelming to the point where human effort wouldn’t scratch it.

My carbon credits will protect me.

Carbon Capture is at the top of the list of global warming grifts. But, like corn Ethanol, red states are largely in on this grift so it rolls on without anyone saying too loudly “uhh this is all bullshite, right?”
Posted on 5/29/26 at 11:27 am to Meauxjeaux
It won’t matter. The whole carbon is bad thing is bullshite. I think the plants like it.

I’d be like that hippie guy on the movie 2012. Just give me a cool front row seat and kill me quick

Call CNN. They must have the answers after pushing this propaganda for 30 years.

I’d be more concerned about the flooding that would result from a rapid pole shift. A rapid stop and shift means we won’t be around to worry about plant life.
