TRUMP has committed no crime. If the house cannot identify any specific provision of the US code he violated, they MUST NOT IMPEACH!
HAIL TRUMP!

Federal law makes it illegal to “solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation” from a foreign national. The question of whether or not the president ran afoul of that law certainly seems in play in light of what we saw in the transcript.
For purposes of this statute, a “contribution or donation” is defined as “money” or another “thing of value.” So a prosecution of Trump would hinge upon whether the opposition research Trump sought on Biden constitutes such a “thing of value.” Barr and Giuliani, meanwhile, could be considered accomplices in Trump’s effort to obtain opposition research from Ukraine’s president.

Good thing that never happened.

An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers to be at a given moment in history... - President Ford.

Imagine if you have a police department target a homeowner, spy on his house, follow his every move, tap his phones, all to try to find something to arrest him with. That is what the DEMS are doing to Trump.
Imagine a school principal targeting a teacher cuz she didn't like him, reading all his emails, wiring their room, taking all good teaching methods the teacher did and twisting it into something bad all to discredit that teacher in the eyes of the parents and other faculty. That is what the DEMS are doing to Trump.
It's not right and the public knows it.

Except people ASSUME he did it because of the campaign. Investigating the actions of a previous administration falls within the rights of the executive and it is not a crime for him to exercise his constitutional powers EVEN IF you don't like how he used them.

Its going on 3 years that they have been spying on Trump and they have found nothing. Reaching so far to Ukraine and Kurds shows they have nothing.
I wonder if they will ever hold a vote, maybe a week before the election or do they fast track it if he wins again and repubs retake the house

Even though the constitution talks in terms of "crimes" impeachment is essentially a political--not criminal--process.

The investigation into attempts by foreign powers to influence the 2016 election began well before Biden announced his Presidency. Information derived from that investigation (and Biden's own words in video admitting to extorting the Ukrainians) have led to this point.
Either that is a superseding factor or the precedent is set that no one may be investigated for anything as long as they are running for President (by extension that could eventually cover any elected office).
Those are the only two choices. Which would you rather?
