We've been watching "Impeachment" on FX. Refresh my memory on Clinton and Monica

Yes,I know there is a Movie/TV board. Certainly I remember the circus involving their "improper relationship" and the genesis of Whitewater.
But I'm having a hard time recollecting how Starr felt Monica needed to testify in front of the Grand Jury describing her relationship with Clinton. They even had the "cigar" episode discussed this week.
Now, Clinton was a cad (although in hindsight I concede the guy was a pretty good President, although this is neither here nor there) and obviously he and Monica shouldn't have done what they did. But why did all of this have to come out in public?

So, you have no concerns about the chief executive fricking an employee on public property, on government time, then lying under oath about it AND encouraging her to lie under oath about it?
None of that is suitable for public inquiry? "Nothing to see here folks" sort of thing?

1. He was President
2. He lied about it in a deposition
2. He lied about it in a deposition

Because he lied under oath in the course and scope of his sexual harassment lawsuit that had been filed by Paula Jones. He committed PERJURY.
And, contrary to the LIES concocted and spewed by the MSM, THAT was the basis of his impeachment.

He is still disbarred due to perjury, yes?

Back up.
Clinton benefitted greatly from being the president during the .com boom and unprecedented economic growth. Al Gore even tried to take credit for creating the Internet. He also gutted IS intelligent agencies and military funding in spite of the World Trade Center bombing and later the USS Cole. You could easily argue that Clinton’s policies caused 9/11

He did not have sexual relations with that woman.

He was a very public figure and he perjured himself in a deposition.

Imagine if Trump did this. It would have been considered an abuse of power/national security risk and he'd be gone.

But no “cigar” scene since Monica didn’t want to have it in there.
If this were HBO or Cinemax, they would have tried harder to get in in.

What you saw on TV in real time was 5% of what was going on.
The best place on the net at the time was FreeRepublic.
That's where the women Bill attacked had a voice, including the one he raped.
It also had the Tripp tape where he told Monica he had over 200 'affairs' since being married to Hillary.
Monica was the only focus in the press because of the evidence (his semen on her dress).

Not to mention a Congress ran by Newt Gingrich when he was more than a blowhard, who rammed welfare reform and a balanced budget down Clinton's throat.

The woman that plays HRC (Nurse Jackie) did a interview saying she wanted the part to honor Hillary.
I watched all but one so far.
The details about what exact sex acts was because WJC said it depends on what the definition of it, is, whatever is.
This movie has political bias. Linda Tripp is portrayed oddly; she was weird but.... she was scared because she worked for Vince Foster and watched files come and go.
The portrayal of Hillary is so bogus. Hillary was not all calm-I doubt they slept in the same bed. And I would bet she threw lamps at Bill and was not the calm player as the movie so far portrays.

No. Surrendered his law license for 5 years.
Pyrrhic defeat. He was never going to practice law again, anyway.

He abused his position as a public servant to target young woman, some would argue criminally (sexual harassment of Paula Jones). The questions to this affect were to establish patterns of behavior.
In depositions he lied under oath which is a crime. He also obstructed justice and tampered with witnesses, instructing others to lie or sign false affidavits.
The President of the United States ended up being disbarred.
Holding public officials accountable isn't something that should be done in the shadows.

He lied under oath. For such a small thing, it cemented even more invulnerability into the office. Newt also pissed away a lot of Goodwill on it.

Part of the Grand Jury process and especially special prosecutor process is to follow the threads uncovered.
The Monica thing was uncovered somehow in the testimony. The thing is, if Clinton would have just said "Yeah, I had a relationship with her" and moved on he would not have been impeached. Instead, he perjured himself which in a nation ruled by laws should have seen his removal from office.

If I remember right, Drudge broke this story. Put him on the map.
