but the replacement isn't happening

Biden Admin's New Term for Migrants Sparks Republican Fury

President Joe Biden's administration is facing backlash from GOP lawmakers who are angered by a Thursday statement from the White House that referred to migrants as "newcomers."

The statement was released ahead of the president's trip to Brownsville, Texas, where he is scheduled to meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, law enforcement and local leaders as part of a push to get Congress to pass a bipartisan border security agreement.

One passage of the White House fact sheet states that the border bill "includes $1.4 billion for cities and states who are providing critical services to newcomers, and would expedite work permits for people who are in the country and qualify."

Republican Representative Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin was among those who took umbrage with the "newcomer" term the administration used for migrants.

Invaders is a more appropriate term

Or horde if we are speaking in the plural

I still do.

*And worse. We had an Operation back in the 50's that repeating the name of would likely result in a ban now.

I'd say invaders if you gauge that against a legal course to gain citizenship. e.g., cost from approx. $700 to $900 (depending on current immigration status) cost to obtain supporting documentation, cost to attain biometrics and, most importantly, exhibit some (limited) knowledge of written and spoken Engllish as well as US civics.

Well 'newcomers' is shorter than what the Dems used to call them...'asylum seekers.'

And for me, I stick with the terms “murderers and rapists.” I tend to call a spade a spade.

I've tended for years to use the term "illegals," but with the size and scope and nefarious intent behind it all, I really, really believe "invaders" is by far the most accurate and appropriate word.

Just as I firmly believe every single politician, bureaucrat, NGO official, sanctuary-city mayor, etc., who has helped to facilitate this invasion truly needs to be hanged by the neck in the public square. And I'm not being hyperbolic. I truly, truly believe it's a just and warranted fate for these traitors for their actions... erasing borders, erasing sovereignty, and cultivating a foreign invasion of our land.

I like good old fashioned words that get to the point - any distinctions required for context can come in the following statements

"Illegal alien" - is the correct term at its basic level of definition. makes a great starting point for further discussions using relevant adjectives.

So their solution to the problem they created is to give them billions more of our tax money instead of securing the fricking border? I don't give a frick what they want to call them, this is bull shite.

It’s “undocumented” guys come on, a person cannot be illegal. The action of them being here may be illegal but the person cannot be. Come on guys get with the times!

More immigrants come to the US the correct way yet we're supposed to act like the only way people can get here are through our southern border
