So we jumped straight to them killing 3,000 Americans after a strike where they were told through back channels that we would not be striking any military locations, and would only strike the nuclear facilities? I would assume that if they killed 3,000 Americans after that then we would probably put boots on the ground and make the civilian casualties from the Obama bombings look like childs play.

End of ? New ? This is the only two considerations you got?

It's a way to summarily frame the situation. It's meant to be consumable for your average PT poster these days, which means it's simplistic and not perfect and all-encompassing.

Oh, so we're going with unserious silliness this morning, I see.

Go re-read my post and the one I responded to/quoted, friend.

Me too. Others seem to be claiming there is a 0.00% chance of boots on the ground. We are testing that hypothesis/theory.

Neither side should be claiming anything with a high degree of confidence. Just like tariffs, we’re just going to have to wait to see how it plays out. Too many unknowns right now on top of dealing with a degree of fanaticism.

For the record I am 100% not. Even ITT I said Iran may internally admit defeat get their typical symbolic strike for public face purposes.

the beginning of a new conflict.“(Quote)

The conflict, via proxy, has been going on for decades. The tipping point for direct confrontation was the ballistic nukes, which Iran and sympathetic supporters always deny, even in the face of obvious logic. Trump and Israel (“Big Satan/Little Satan”) just dropped the mind games and delivered the first punch. It remains to be seen if the Jihadists can or decide to go all in now, or wait another decade until they own Europe.

No, he's not... but his legacy will be. And the neo-cons are salivating at their future prospects right now.

Are we pretending the Iranians weren’t killing Americans and interested in doing so before Saturday?

That is why I approve of hitting the Iranians. Out of all the countries in the middle east they are they only ones we should have messed with. They have been killing Americans for almost 50 years.

I havent forgotten the hostages held for 444 days, the Marines who died in Beirut (by Hezbollah with the support of Iran), then the Kobar towers, then the thousands of injured troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from IED built with support from Iran.

I believe we can destroy whatever we need from the air, without boots on the ground. We certainly dont need to try and occupy it for 20 years like Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wish after the hostages had been released, Reagan had nuked them.

You've forgotten the brutal dictator that we installed who oppressed them for like 26 years from 1953 to 1979.

You've forgotten that we turned around and had our ally Iraq then declare war on them in 1980. And then we gave Iraq access to chemical and biological weapons which were then used by Iraq against Iran.

You've forgotten that Iran was originally part of the coalition after 9/11 until GWB started calling them part of the axis of evil and threatened them.

There is a reason why they don't hate New Zealand but do hate us, and based on your response for their actions which are but a tiny fraction compared to our treatment to them, if you were Iranian you'd probably be screaming death to America the loudest.

You are what you hate, maybe worse.

Pointing out hypocrisy and exposing neocons, yes. Their reveal has happened and is no longer a clandestine operation. The fluidity of their state has ceased.
