Story Channel had a documentary about the battle of Peleliu (Philippines) just brutal.First Marine division had a
70% casualty rate...most due to some questionable decision making by Marine General Geiger.
They also had a documentary about the Massacre at Malmedy and follow up about
SS soldiers convicted and how many of their death/life sentences were commuted...lots of politics involved.

Just glad the Greatest Generation is gone and does not have to see what their lazy arse, trash offspring did to America.

It's hard
Yes it is -
This is the worst I have ever felt - being reminded of what this nation has sacrificed in the past for this ungrateful - and increasingly dishonorable - population we have to endure in today's ameriKa.
The only reason I stay alive is in the increasingly vain hope that "tomorrow will show a way out of this mess ..."
But every day is another disappointment.
I've tried to immerse my waking hours into research of non-political historical events - geological eras, advancements in sciences, genealogical data . . .

What is really scary is that in watching many YouTube reaction videos of WWII movies, the very large majority of the reactors have almost zero knowledge of WWII, D Day in particular. "Why are they landing on those beaches? They should go inland". "Why use so many small boats ?""Why not just starve the Germans out?" "Where were the French all that time?" "All those soldiers that drowned. Why didn't they throw them life preservers?" But talk about your dumb progressives : " flame throwers should have been declared illegal"..............

I would agree, however the outcome of the war against Germany is the Marxist takeover of the West, which Germany was fighting against.

So, you don’t think that the last people discovering that slavery was outlawed in the United States is something worth celebrating?
Dumb post. Explain yourself.

The first 20 minutes or so of Saving Private Ryan should be mandatory viewing every semester of high school. Might change some perspectives of a very spoiled and sheltered generation

Great Uncle arrive 90 days after D day. He received a silver star in Battle of Budge. Grandpa was in South Pacific. He drove troops to Japanese islands during invasions.

What went through their minds before stepping out of those Higgins landing crafts suspecting the odds were not very good for getting across the beaches.
Then those who were able to survive that having to scale those cliffs at Pointe du Hoc with the enemy firing down on them.
Add what the Marines went through in their island hopping on the way to Japan.
Just saw on the Story channel film on what happened at Peleliu.
And how the Marines suffered physically and psychologically in that fight which is considered the worst battle to have taken place in either theater of the war.
Question is, would any of them in both theaters have made those choices had they known their descendants would eventually hand the nation they were fighting for over to slackers and deviants.
Was it or was it not unintended consequences: all that suffering and death so marxists and their poisonous ideology - camouflaged as "progressivism" - could become entrenched in the nation.

Uh, no. I know the origins of Juneteenth and why it is celebrated. You should ask the idiot who called it cultural Marxism and identity politics why he called it that, since Juneteenth is tied to actual American history.
