Can you imagine some politician saying in a speech, “So I was talking to some redskin friends of mine...”

I'd be much more concerned if one said he/she was talking to some Jet friends or Dolphin friends.

We know they sure as hell aren't talking to any Saints.

Indians are black people now?

Yeah, this woman is obviously ignorant when it comes to genetics....they are from the Asian/Mongoloid race, not African/Negroid race.

Do they think that if the Redskins leave that they will just be able to have the Detroit Lions move in instead?

I doubt they are thinking that far ahead. They probably think they have the team by the short & curlies.

Apparently they think the Redskins will be just another Oilers.

That's actually how it works

Agreed. DC can add this as a condition and Dan Snyder can choose to change the name, continue playing outside of DC, or move. Just because someone doesn't agree with the sentiment doesn't mean DC officials can't do exactly what they're doing.

God rule of thumb: If you couldn’t use the word in a public speech without coming across like a massive racist, you probably shouldn’t use the word in a team name.

So in the other thread where the white woman pulls the gun In the parking lot, the black women that instigated said ‘I’m gonna frick your white arse up‘

Are you conceding that she is in fact a racist?

Interesting...I wonder what Native Americans think?

“Nine in 10 Native Americans say they are not offended by the Washington Redskins name, according to a new Washington Post poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by a national movement to change the football team’s moniker.”

“ The survey of 504 people across every state and the District reveals that the minds of Native Americans have remained unchanged since a 2004 poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found the same result.”

“ Among the Native Americans reached over a five-month period ending in April, more than 7 in 10 said they did not feel the word “Redskin” was disrespectful to Indians. An even higher number — 8 in 10 — said they would not be offended if a non-native called them that name.”

Good thing Self hating White liberals know what’s best and are outraged for native Americans.

That's a good point. Arkansas State University decided to change their name from "Indians" a few years back. I've always thought of Native Americans as being really friendly peaceful people. Even though I can't really speak for how they might feel about "Red Skins" or "Indians" as a mascot for a sports team, it seems to me like many of them might be proud their ethnic group is stamped on a sports franchise. I don't know why anyone could view it as derogatory unless the team always sucked. Like whoever the Harlem Globbtrotters play and have like a 25000-0 record against

I hope they move to another city in a more welcoming part of the country. And then to snub Washington change the teams nickname and allow the winning city with the highest bid for the team to pick the name. Of course they could allow Washington to bid.

I think the Oklahoma City Redskins has a nice ring to it.

They ain't moving. Snyder owns ~200 acres of land next to FedEx Field. He has been playing MD against DC to get the best tax deal and $$$ for him to build a new stadium and development on.
