W will join his dad in hell one day and answer for crimes against humanity in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As far as Iran goes, only time will tell.

Congress voted on it and supported it for over 20 years. The national defense service medal was reauthorized when they started it and operation Iraqi freedom service medal was created. You can’t say the same for Iran.

Cool. Neither one is a war.

You can blame Trump all you want on the debt. But it is Congress that passes the budget. And by the way the debt will be 80t in 4 or 5 years from now no matter who the president is.

It’s nice of you to defend bush here but one we invaded and spent 20 years, the other we haven’t and it’s only been 7 months.

Looking back (unfair...hindsight is 20/20), do you think our invasion and occupation was a good thing?

I appreciate the service of everyone in Iraq, including my Marine Major nephew who fought in Fallujah. No one is criticizing our soldiers, airmen, and sailors who honorably served our country.

Why is it unfair now to assess whether Trump was right about the sacrifice being a "big fat mistake?"

FWIW, I started the thread because yesterday some on the Board implied that the uranium found in Syria was evidence that Saddam had had WMDs...and, I guess, therefore our War/Use of Force (whatever you want to call it) in Iraq had been a good idea.

I was just curious what the Board thought about Iraq now that the dust has settled. As for President Trump’s attack on Iran, it's too early to make an assessment.

Every ME incursion has been a mistake since the fall of the Ottoman Empire. We don’t understand the region or its people and we should stay out of there.

Obviouslt Iraq was a big fat mistake

Do you have a screw loose? Besides the ridiculous and always unfounded allegation that I have TDS, you had NOT answered.

I think the NIA and Mossad set this up to take down Iran.
Lied, exaggerated and manipulated data on a citizens over throw of the Iranian government with a show of American force and backing.

We have no way of knowing if that was the end result or not.

Now, you're seeing clearly. If that same thing happened in eastern Europe, most of this board would have called it a color revolution.

That's what I think, and why the "denuclearization" ruse is so insulting.

It's worth having a national conversation...maybe even through the only branch of government authorized to declare war...whether regime change in Iran is worth using military force.

What about it? I am SUPER old school (George Washington/no foreign entanglements). I wouldn't have spent a penny on defending Ukraine...then, again, I would have imprisoned Nuland and the other Neocons for meddling in Ukrainian affairs.

Iraq is currently a functioning nation-state that does not threaten its neighbors or attack international interests.

I would like to hear the argument that "it was a big fat mistake". There might be a meritorious argument there, but, Iraq today is better than Saddam Iraq.

What argument? I agree that it's too early to decide about Iran.

I was hoping we could all at least agree that Trump was right: Iraq was a "big fat mistake."
