The only way to make everyone is to make everyone poor..as in socialism.

Here is a good analogy is borrowed from an anonymous online poster:

"See, socialism first has to succeed in a country, and for that it must punish capitalism and remove it.

That lowers the standard of living, because:

A) the taxes they pay get passed on to everyone else;
B) the businesses close;
C) the businesses leave;
D) the government ends up taxing or restricting businesses that try to leave;
E) the businesses get nationalized;
F) the government controls all the businesses;
G) competition goes out the window;
H) incentive for personal success goes out the window save what the government approves;
I) standard of living continues to go down;
J) the government taxes the next level of "rich" as the definition drops to include more and more people of lower and lower income;
K) once there are no more rich, and they have either fled or joined the government and become the elite governing the masses, for no such dream as true socialism, communism or democracy is possible in reality,...

...everyone is equal.

Equally enslaved, equally dependent on the government, and all those people who thought they were getting a free ride? Oh, they work. They have to. Or they go to a work camp.

There is no free ride. Socialism is the greatest danger our world has ever faced.

How do you know they don't? I know some of the folks form one of their family offices. They are generally very generous to causes they support.

One associate but how much capital at risk for their Wal-mart job?

No matter how you try to dress it up, this is rank envy and jealousy. It’s disgusting and evil.

Millions of people lifted out of poverty (employees and customers) but screw that - those squirrels got a lot more nuts than i got.

It’s crazy that the democrats say they want to tax rich but the rich are funding their campaigns. If the rich keep donating to democrats then Trump should see if he could make a tax law that would mostly effect democrat donors. Atleast pass a bill for people to pay extra money to the government if they feel the need. Then we could see all these rich democrats change their minds about not paying enough taxes.

I certainly enjoy when elected officials specifically target private citizens with legislation.

It is complete bullshite the lengths Wal-Mart will go to shift the burden of keeping its employees out of poverty onto the taxpayer by helping them enroll in Medicaid, Tanf, and Snap.

On the other hand it really isn't their fault. If the government didn't give out the freebies the labor market would be better.

I read an article that slams the Walton's for their charitable giving, but the arguments made were a sham.

First, the author made the assumption that the Walton Foundation was the only charity that any of the Walton Family members contribute to.

Second, it criticizes them for the amount spent by the foundation by comparing it to the total wealth of the family, not their income. You don't give away 10% of your wealth to charity each year, you give away 10% of your income. In order to give away 10% of their wealth, they would have to sell a bunch of their stock.

Finally, it also criticizes them for deducting their charitable contributions, as if rich people should not be screwing the taxpayers by deducting their charitable donations.

Did she open up the books on her charitable giving and activities? Seems like it should almost be requisite before thinking you would be in a position to pen such a "criticism" piece, but still no less tacky a thing to do.

They give away a crap ton of money through their grant program. I run a Foster Care 5013c that benefits from their generosity.

Do I think they should pay associate a little more? Yes. Is this America where a company can run their business the way they want without me or the government dictating how they do it? Yes.

If the store associates hate it so badly go find something else to do.

If you would pull your head out of your arse long enough you could do some research and find the Waltons donate a shite ton of money to many different causes. They dont just sit on their pile of cash yelling frick you peasants.

Here’s an incredible stat:

A Walton heir makes more in ONE MINUTE than a Walmart worker makes in a year

I dislike wealth redistribution, but that is unreal.

Walmart has helped poor and middle class consumers, but maybe the family should consider bettering their image by donating a lot to causes and stuff

A politician running for president targets a specific family simply because they are successful, and in turn appeals to one of the seven deadly sins (envy) to get votes. What a time to be alive.

That's a huge help. I don't know about Tennessee, but in Florida capital outlay is by far the largest hurdle for charter schools. We came so close to closing in the first few years I lost count, and it was all because of capital outlay.

Cashiers, cart folks, stockers- who of them (as a brand new associate) deserves one more penny? Not a damn one. Work your way up the ladder if you want more- if not, be a broke arse.
