re: Vivek: Jesus is A son of god but not THE son of god. A way to heaven but not THE way

Jesus didn’t walk around saying the exact English sentence “I am God,” but He absolutely claimed things only God can claim.
- He forgave sins directly (Mark 2). The people around Him immediately said “who can forgive sins but God alone?” and Jesus doesn’t correct them, He doubles down.
- In John 8:58 He says “before Abraham was, I AM.” That’s not bad grammar, that’s the divine name from Exodus. They try to stone Him for it. They understood exactly what He was claiming.
- In John 10:30 He says “I and the Father are one,” and again they pick up stones for blasphemy. Not misunderstanding. That was the claim.
- In John 20:28 Thomas literally calls Him “my Lord and my God,” and Jesus accepts it. No correction, no “hey don’t say that.”
So no, Nicaea didn’t invent anything. It responded to a debate that already existed because the earliest Christians were already treating Jesus as divine.
On the “Jesus prayed to the Father” point, that’s just basic Christian theology. If God becomes man, He actually lives a human life. That includes prayer. That’s not a contradiction, that’s the incarnation.
The Paul attack is laughable. Paul’s letters are some of the earliest Christian documents we have, written within decades of the resurrection. And even if you threw Paul out entirely, you still have the Gospels saying the same things about Jesus.
And calling 2 Peter a “forgery” is a debated scholarly opinion, not some settled fact. Plenty of serious scholars defend its authenticity. Most importantly, the Ecclesia that Christ established.
K, thanks, bye.

Majority of this board loved him bc they don’t care about actual policy or effectiveness. They want to be entertained.

Jesus never claimed to be God. He was constantly referring to God as My Father and praying to His Father
Jesus said I and my father are one
If you have seen me, you have seen the father

Absolutely, unequivocally yes.

I had him pegged. He just says what he thinks people want to hear.

Holy shite what a retarded thing to say.
Every Christian/Catholic that was prepared to give him a benefit of the doubt just decided to stay home.

I also disagree with Protestants who think they can interpret the bible on their own and determine by that interpretation how to get to heaven.
What's so hard to figure out?
1. Believe God is the Father and Creator
2. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
3. Live like it
I don't need a priestly class to tell me that. Jesus tells you exactly what you need to know in the Bible in simple terms. And Paul's letters provide additional details.
It really isn't hard. You don't need decades of study to understand.

To be fair. He's of a completely different religion. It's already rare for someone of a completely different religion to acknowledge other religions.
I think you mean validate other religions.
Muslims and Jews also acknowledge Jesus.
Hinduism is polytheistic.
This is normal for them to validate other religions.
He's made up his own version that he calls monotheistic. Might as well believe in the Avengers.

How many devout Christians would acknowledge hindu gods and their lore.
Christians are monotheists so they do not validate other religions.
False Christians are equally willing to validate many paths to god.
But no actual follower of Christ believes in many paths to God.

A politician? You don’t say.
Although honestly, here, he in fact didn’t just say what he thinks people want to hear.

Well, you do post on this board. So the condescension for all of us is warranted.

So does every Democratic Globalist. The difference is a Republican like him doesn't want to mass import illegal aliens to change the fabric of a country and turn them into voters that will vote Democrat

GFY
The Bible explicitly calls Jesus the "only begotten " and "one and only son" of God.
This clown is NOT have a friendly conversation, hes trying to rewrite the Bible and make it his own belief.
If you are a Christian, you cannot like him, or else wallow in you sin of false Gods.

Yep he wants to import them here he will flood Ohio with H1Bs
Posted on 5/1/26 at 9:45 am to GreatLakesTiger24
