So that means Va. would have still been for Trump. They would go crazy if that happened.

Holy shite
If your vote counts the same as everyone else's, then you're not disenfranchised
Except, under this plan, it doesn't.
In fact, it doesn't count at all.
LOL. Typical SFP. Trapped himself with a logical falacy and now trying to squirm out from under.
Doing this to any states voters is the definition of disenfranchisement.

But given the reason why Kamala didn't get close to Biden in 2020 was a loss of DEM voters in DEM states, I imagine they'd have gotten millions more votes in 2024 under a different system.
Loss of fake votes in Dem states. Couldn't generate 10-12M mail ins like they did in 2020.

I really cant see how this is legal. You are disenfranchising the voters of VA. You are assigning all the states electoral college votes to how the rest of the country voted. So why even count votes for POTUS or even have the POTUS election on the ballot if it means nothing.
Sure the voters voted in the VA congress, but that doesn't mean this is right.
Once winner takes all was passed for a states electoral college, this is the next logical step.
Winner takes all is crap as well and shouldn't be. This is not what the founders intended.

So I was reading about this and even though it is law it cant be used. Until these states have enough to reach 270 then it will go before the Supreme Court to be ruled if its Constitutional where it will be struck down. So currently even though it is written into law they cant use it.
Which also means it cannot be challenged yet (not "ripe").

The states that are agreeing to the compact are “keeping” the electoral college aspect of the system as a way to make it legal within the framework of the Constitution.
Practically speaking, just ignore the electoral college altogether here and think of it as just a popular vote. Every voter in every state has an equal voice is the rationale.
Not advocating for this, but explaining why they are doing it this way. They can’t legally abolish the electoral college without amending the constitution.

Agree but the left will never allow a state like CA or NY to go to split electoral college deligates by county or region. The left would never win another Presidential Election.

So essentially, Virginia voters’ votes don’t matter, but the votes of all other 49 states do. Seems backwards.
Precisely. Who Virginians vote for is irrelevant. Trump would have won Virginia under this law in 2024. Shows what complete dumbasses democrooks are.

Only if those votes don't count. Nobody has shown how that would occur in this system.

Ironically this would have given Trump Virginias EVs in 2024
I don’t really see a case where this ever hurts the GOP. If a Dem wins the PV Virginia will be solid blue anyways.

And the VA votes count in that tally, so there is no disenfranchisement.

How do you tally a national vote without counting all of the votes?
Posted on 4/15/26 at 7:27 am to L.A.
so why would anyone bother to vote there??

In this system is the VA legislature deciding to remove the VA votes from the national tally to determine the national winner?

How else would you get a national vote tally?

Also irrelevant. BTW, is Virginia expected to shift red, because democrooks and rebublicucks sure as frick wouldn’t be passing this law if it were expected to remain blue.

She might as well recall all the US congressmen and senators from Virginia from their seats in DC since she just ceded her state's sovereignty to the other 49 states.
This woman is the epitome of "imbecile"!
eta: Could you imagine trying to build an excel spreadsheet using this logic? That one cell out of fifty would cause an endless loop rendering the entire thing unusable.

If a VA voter's vote counts in the determining system, it's not disenfranchised.
So if the VA voters' votes aren't removed from that national tally, there is no disenfranchisement.

Naw it's solidly bluish purple.
This system is just virtue signaling for DEM state governments.
Then when the next GOP takeover happens, they'll virtue signal by rescinding it. And so on, and so forth.

If their votes end up counting for the candidate they didn’t vote for, then their votes are nullified. You’re really getting into the spin zone now, shyster.
