Democratic officials in Virginia asked the US Supreme Court on Monday to reinstate a congressional map that would benefit their party ahead of this year’s midterm elections, the latest map drawing appeal to reach the high court amid a flurry of mid-decade redistricting.
The emergency appeal follows a decision from the state Supreme Court last week that voided Democrats’ attempt to redraw Virginia’s US House map via an April referendum in a way that would help Democrats pick up four additional seates. The Democrats are asking the US Supreme Court to effectively put that order on hold for this year’s midterm election.

Asking the federal court to overrule the states constitution. Lol. Good luck with that one

I guess the plan to force the Virginia State Supreme Court to retire so they could replace them with Dem simps didnt work...

Even if they don’t, Justice Affirmative Action Jackson will issue some sort of dissenting opinion letting the world know exactly how f*cking stupid she is.
And, of course, our resident retard Supreme Court scholar, Slowf*ckingPinhead, will cite three obscure 1800s case cases he thinks supports Jackson’s dissent that have absolutely fricking nothing to do with the issue. After being relentlessly mocked and shamed, he’ll tell us that we just can’t understand the subtleties of his analysis.

If republicans can use the Supreme Court for their redistricting efforts, the democrats should be able to as well.

It's not the same. At all.

Ah, the best they can hope for is the new slam dump... 6-3

SCOTUS won't touch this. The VA Supreme Court ruled that the procedure on this amendment violated the VA Constitution; SCOTUS will say "nah, we're good" and more commies will cry and make threats.

IOW, no standing to overrule a state SC interpreting their own state constitution.

Republicans (LA AG) appealed a lower court ruling that forced them to create a 2nd minority district. Supreme court ruled that the votign right act section 2 did not call into play the creation of a district solely based on race.
Virginia republicans appealed to the state courts that the process the state legislature followed was against the process in the state's constitution, and won a restraining order, dems appealed to state supreme court. state supreme court ruled that the dem state house did not follow the constitutional process for adding an amendment to the ballot and ruled the ballot measure void. they did not rule on the merits of the redistricting.
why would the US supreme court take up a case pertaining to a violation of an individual state's constitution?
