Not a big deal for me, getting some stuff done around the house. Ordered a Microtech Combat Troodon, they offer a pretty good discount to military/service personnel.

I rely on the various economic release numbers for my analysis. I’m a bit pissed we won’t have those on a regular rotation for the time being. It was one of the few truly good things the government does.

Sounds like a great time to visit a state park.

It’s nice working under WCF. We’re usually insulated from shutdowns.

I’m an engineer for the USAF and we’re working without pay. I support the F-35 program and it’s considered essential. I have enough funds to float for around 6 months.

air traffic controllers begin calling in sick

now it's a party..... border patrol and customs need to walk out next. let's have all federal law enforcement, ice, and prison guards start call outs and really get this shutdown cranked up.

clowns, all of them.

May not get paid on the 15th. I've got savings that will cover our bills for a while. I'm sure some of the lower ranks will have issues...but there is aid out there to help them.

I’ve updated my list of the adverse effects this shutdown has had on my life:

If people focused more of their anger and need for change on Congress and tried to get them to do their fricking job for the first time in a long time...rather than the president issuing a bunch of EOs, we wouldn't have these continual issues...and the system of checks and balances would be ultimately better for it.

And there's even more! Omnibus bills and continued resolutions are essentially an end-around for the finite limitations that the Constitution imposes upon federal spending. They get all their NGO funding through circumventing the Constitution.

Taxpayer dollars, funneled by the government into organizations that carry out, on behalf of the government, all of the pet projects that the government is legally and explicitly prohibited from doing. Fascism you can vote for!

The Trump administration considers funding to Israel as an essential security-related expenditure and it will continue as normal.

Where's the outrage?
